Q: I’m looking at getting a used chevy tahoe or a trailblazer?
my question is from what i have noticed the gas mileage is the same so what would be the benefit of getting the smaller vehicle? the tahoe is in my opinion the better vehicle it has more room and would not be any harder to park or drive. i mean it is not like i’m comparing it to a suburban. just curious to see what the difference would be?
A: I deal mostly with cars and trucks that are not road worthy any longer. In my own personal experience I would steer you towards the Tahoe. I have personally scrapped out about a dozen Trailblazers over the last 3 years and have yet had the pleasure of tearing into a Tahoe. For what its worth I assume that they are overall built better than a Trailblazer.

A: get the tahoe. Its based on the suburban frame and body, parts are cheaper and easier to get, and the engines on those are tried and true. The trailblazer engine, if you look, has a much crappier horse-power-to-fuel-economy ratio.
Q: Bought a used 99 chevy tahoe w/5.7L-need to replace radiator-how do I determine the correct one to buy online?
Have seen listings with or without engine oil cooler and differing numbers of rows as well as different sizes, etc. Please don’t answer this if you don’t really know and are guessing just to add to your point total
A: go to www.lmctruck.com they will show you all the different applications for that yr and engine size as well as a detail picture and the VIN of your vehicle will help them make sure you get the correct radiator
Q: how cheap is a used chevy tahoe?
My parents are buying me a car/truck when I get my license in May, I love Chevy tahoes so I wanted to buy a used one! but of a newer model 2007-2009. How cheap can i get one??!!!
A: A used 2007 Tahoe would be around $17,000 if it retains 55 percent of its value over 3 years. A 2009 would be closer to $25k-$32k.
Q: I bought a used 1996 two door chevy Tahoe 4×4 350 150,000. What can I do to make it last?
What are some maintenance things I can do to make this vehicle last? I changed the oil and its already black again. Is there something i can put in it to clean it up so the oil will stay clean? Also where is a good place to purchase interior parts for this vehicle? ie Sun visor bucket seats, power lock switch. Thanks you for your Help.
also it needs a new heater core, the heater does not work, is this hard to do and is it costly.
A: For interior parts try a salvage yard or Car-Parts.com.
Usually a heater core goes bad because the antifreeze was not maintained allowing corrosion. Check your coolant, is it orange and bright and clean or is it dirty and brown? If it is dirty you need antifreeze service. Bad antifreeze can also damage your aluminum intake manifold and other aluminum parts by corrosion. How do you know your heater core is bad, was it leaking onto the passenger floorboard? I would need more info on your heater problem to make sure it was the heater core or not something else.
For maintenance, spray lubricate your door hinge pins and bushings regularly like when you change oil. The bushings are brass and if they get dry they will wear out making your door sag.
For detailing use silicone free products.

Q: Black 22″ that look like the rims Rob & Big used to have on their old Chevy Tahoe?
I’m looking to put all black 22’s on my 02 ford explorer. I prefer flat black but all black is fine as well, as long as it’s not a chrome wheel with black spokes. Just like the one on Rob & Big’s old Tahoe. Thanks for the help
A: try www.rrdesigns

A: Plug it in and try it. See if the volt meter goes above 13 volts when engine is running.
Q: Looking for used Tires for a 2006 Chevy Tahoe?
Does anyone have any used bridge stone dueler ht 265/70r17 owl tires? or does any one know a good site where I pick them up.
A: Why would you buy used? Get a set of new, for barely anything more, and get a nice factory warranty and road hazard for them.
Q: I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe 4×4.I used the 4 wheel on hi to run over some snow. Now i cant go back to 2 wheel. Y?
A: put the car in N and then put it in 2 Hi and then put it in D and see what happens.
Also put the Tahoe in Reverse if it is hard to back up and turn then it is still in 4WD.
Good luck!
Q: Question about the Chevy Tahoe cost of ownership ?
Our family is Looking to buy a used chevy thane. The question is do they cost alot of money to repair? how often do they need new repairs? And how often will we need to get new tires? ( 4 tires ) and do they guzzle gas and cost alot to refill?
A: First off the other person who answered is wrong with what they have said. I am a car salesman and I think that this is the best SUV you can buy besides the Yukon Denali by GMC. The Tahoe is costly on gas but doesn’t get only 15mpg, they actually get 21mpg highway but still are quite costly in the fuel sense. 70-80dollars per fill up. Besides the gas the vehicle is very reliable and rarely needs repairs and when it does they never are too costly. Tires all depend on where, how, and how often you drive. If you just drive around town commuting everyday the tires last a long time, i have an older model (05′) and have only changed the tires once with 150k miles on it.
Q: What antifreeze to use (99′ Chevy Tahoe)?
Hi All,
I have a 99′ Chevy Tahoe (5.7L engine) that I do not know what antifreeze to use in it. Could somebody tell me what one I should use?
A: This is what Chevrolet has been using since the mid-90s in its vehicles. However, if you bought the car used you should make sure the previous owner didn’t flush the radiator and use a different kind of coolant. Generally you shouldn’t mix Dex-cool with other types because it can turn into a sludge which will clog your radiator. If in doubt, take it to a mechanic and get a radiator flush, and then you can use any anti-freeze you want. But standard, it should use Dex-cool. Something like this:
Prestone Extended Life, Gallon, 5/150 GM Dex Cool
$9.79

Q: Looking to buy a used pick up, whats a better choice Chevy, Dodge or Ford?
Looking to buy a used pick up, whats a better choice Chevy, Dodge or Ford?
We are looking to buy a used pickup truck with an extended cab. We are looking for late 90’s early 2000’s models. Which one is a better choice as far as dependability? We had a 96′ Chevy Tahoe in the past and it gave us ALOT of problems, not sure if it was just a bad seed of the bunch. Which pickups have got better ratings?
A: Get a dodge.
Q: 2003 chevy tahoe…wht can i do ?
I recently bought a used 03 Chevy tahoe. In great condition (atleast I thought), and low miles for its age. Was goin great until lately I’m having problems with the speedometer getting stuck. I can b on the freeway goin 10 or parked and goin 70 (according to the broken speedometer). It doesn’t happen all the time but is still a problem for me. I no there was a recall on the instrument panel in some of these vehicles for this exact problem. Except Wen I called the dealership they sed they couldnt do anything bcuz its over 80thousand miles and wanted me to pay full price to get it fixed. The truck is just over 80 and new to me so having this problem is ridiculous to me. Any advice on what I can do besides paying the full price to have it fixed? Is there some way for the dealership to fix it for free or at a lesser press?
A: HI!
You have NO Cable to operate your Speedometer. it is all electronic ( and i do not mean digital ! ) The Speed Sensor could not be at fault for this type of Problem either!
I have seen this Many Many times in Chevy , Gmc , Buick , Pontiac Etc vehicles. They even will warranty the cluster thru the dealership!!
The Problem lies in the Speedometer Cluster. These Clusters made after 2000 have Stepper Motors to drive ALL the gauges including the SPEEDOMETER ! The Tachometer and Speedometer are the Most prone to failure as they are used the most!
It is best to have the Instrument Cluster Removed and Repaired or Replaced. A junkyard Replacement is ok but make sure you get a guarantee.
I pull at least one cluster a week and repair them for this same sort of problem!
I would charge $100 to repair the cluster plus shipping.
I guarantee my work for 2 years.
I hope this helps Good Luck!
Q: 2002 chevy Tahoe transfer case and transmission cause my truck to get bad gas mileage?
My truck was getting 12.5 mpg in october of this year, and 1 week into october my transfer case went out and i had a used transfer case put in the tahoe, now i get 9.1 mpg, is there a possibility that the transfer case has screwed up the mileage or does it have to do with the temperature being cold now
A: If you used the correct transfer case, it will not effect your gas mileage.
Good Luck. Mike
