Q: my dad is stealing my DODGE challenger?
my mom bought me a dodge challenger S/E model, and its kind of hers too, but she mostly drives her van, and its my first car. my dads been driving his ford explorer for all these years, and this is the second time he took the challenger to work…. dude… i found out about the challenger 2 years ago and i made it clear that it was my car that i wanted, and some how he thinks he can use it too? how do i tell him to back off?
A: Are you paying for it? Probably not, therefore it is HIS car. If you don’t want to share your car, then get a job and get your own – good luck
Q: What is better ‘10 Mustang GT500 or Dodge Challenger R/T J?
I love the Mustang better, but my parents think other wise. I want the Mustang GT500, which is roughly $46,000. I am about to get my permit, so I need a car to drive. They say that the GT500 is too much and want to get me a car in the 20s. What do you all think about this situation?
A: NOT SURE where answerer ZEALOT got his info but its really wrong.
…1st of all in terms of handling based on the improved suspension in the 09/10’s mustang & shelby their handling and road holding is outstanding (lateral acceleration/skidpad ratings for them are better than bmw 335i).
here is latest test comparison road lateral accel 9road holding)
mustang gt/shelby: .95g ; camaro .90g ; challenger rt; .82
lets face it the challenger is big – actually its obese at almost 4200lbs it outweighs the ford product by over 600lbs and is 300lbs heavier than a camaro. its wide (76 in. vs the shelby 74″ )and its long (- full 10 in. longer than the shelby and 8 in. longer than the camaro)….which means parking and street driving is a chore.
the challenger is quite frankly a great engine installed in a pig….wide and fat, with roadholding abilities that match cars from the 80’s.
the other problem…is of course basically chrysler is finished, its performance division is gone and there will be little aftermarket product for the challenger…..
i think if you cannot get the the shelby….
-consider the camaro ss (its faster/handles better than the challenger )
and is same price as the R/T…..OR new mustang GT (or late model GT) with the track pack….as mentioned above handling is now outstanding, its faster 0-60 and in the 1/4mi. than the dodge, its price competitive plus its been in production for plus 45 yrs and has the largest aftermarket following of ANY car.
….new mustang and in a yr or 3 you can throw a supercharger on it, better exhaust, and run it up to plus 420hp for less than $7000 including pro shop labour.
unless your dad is a died in the wool dodge guy the new 2010 or an 09 mustang gt is about 2X better product than the challenger plus will hold its resale value better than the dodge (when challenger is terminated – which is likely a certainty).
i have read every road test on the challenger – have driven one and really cannot understand whats to love in this car.
have driven 08 shelby…….its really tight solid and good handling and road tests for 2010, are even better. camaro is faster than new mustang gt, but its big and slow handling car….roof is too low plus it looks like gm’s performance division is toast so the ss may be terminated again
my view – if you lose the battle on the shelby – go with new mustang gt……….cannot see what the argument for a challenger could possibly be, its such a bad auto.
cheers 04 cobra
Q: Dodge Challenger or the Dodge Ram Extended Crew cab?
I could never afford either one of these but if I could, which one should I get? They both kick ass but one is bigger and can haul people or junk.
A: I always go for the performance vehicles myself so I say the Challenger.
Q: Why doesn’t a manual transmission come standard on a Dodge Challenger?
And from the research I’ve done, I don’t think the V6 model even has the option of a manual transmission. What is up with that? Who am I…somebody’s grandma? I don’t want the car to drive itself. Where’s the fun in that?
A: the reason it doesn’t come standard equipment these days is half the population of the world still can’t drive a manual shift car, when i learned to drive that was mandatory that you knew how to drive a manual shift car,and it would hurt the sale of them if people seen them with a manual transmission as standard equipment,me i like the manual shift, been driving one since 1968,good luck
Q: ok guys ford mustang or dodge charger or dodge challenger srt 8?

A: 1. dodge charger-get srt8 edition tho cuz its engine is crazy and gives a nice roar..great looks easy to get mods
2. chevy camaro-its gona be a great price probably under 30 thousand..it looks like a future car too for under 30!!! but its almost too good of a deal and everyone will buy them
3. dodge challenger-i love the old muscle cars..great sound and looks
4. mustang-dont get it!! bad engine..my sister has one and she takes it to the shop alot..not reliable..and everyone has them these days..i always see them on the road..thieir not unique anymore sry
Q: What years did the Dodge Challenger have a rear spoiler?
1970? 1971 for sure. Any later years besides the new retro model?
A: The 1970 T/A model had a spoiler, both front and rear as part of the package. IN my opinion, this spoiler package had the best appearance. There was also a “Go-wing” spoiler available in 70 and 71.
Keep in mind that this is “factory Installed”…both spoilers are available from various parts houses, and there have been many opportunities to customize these cars over the years.
Q: does anyone know when dodge is going to release the challenger?
DODGE CHALLENGER
A: The first Challengers will be SRT-8 models with automatic transmissions, with a HEMI Orange exterior, hood stripes, and a 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 engine. The first three will be auctioned off for charity.
The Hemi engine is set for an upgrade, but it probably will not arrive in time for the Challenger. By 2009, Chrysler will have variable cam timing set up for its Hemi engines, neatly leapfrogging most variable-valve timing systems.
The multiple displacement system is expected to remain for most, if not all, 5.7 Hemis. A 6.4 liter version is still expected, with 450-500 hp, though whether this is earmarked for the Challenger or not is still in question.
Expect a price of about $31,000 and UP.
Q: Chevy Camero or a Dodge Challenger?
I want to buy a new car but am torn between a Chevy Camero, Dodge Challenger, and a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Which one should I buy and why?
A: Camaro cause chevy is very reliable and chrysler who owns dodge and jeep is not. based on looks a tossup between the camaro and challenger
Q: I’m getting a Dodge Challenger SE, should I get it in white or black?
It’s a company car, so those are the only two color options, I’m leaning towards white (fan of Vanishing Point). I was just wondering what color (out of white or black) people like more. I know it only has a V6, but my only other option for a car was the Avenger. This is urgent, I order tomorrow.
I live in Michigan, so my car is covered in road salt half the year.
A: Get white, then you can be similar to the challenger from vanishing point
Q: Should I get a Dodge Challenger v6 SE?
i bought a brand new 2010 Toyota Corolla S in Oct. 2010 after the decline option of the dodge dealership not giving me the deal on a new 2010 Dodge Challenger SE. So is it a good idea to trade it in. plus i only put $500 down and now willing to put down $3000 on the new Challenger.
A: I would personally wait and get the 2011 model due to the fact that the V-6 in the challenger SE is not the same one they are using now. The 2010 comes with the 3.5L H.O. (High Output) V-6 putting out 250 horses. The new 2011 hass the 3.6L Pentastar V-6 that in the challenger puts out 290 horses. I would rather wait and get the one with the extra 40 horses for more fun. Or look at the 2010 dodge charger you might even find a good deal on an R/T since the 2011 has a new design they might want to move the 2010 models off the lot quickly.
Q: what is the difference between the basic dodge SE challenger and the dodge SE challenger with the G package?
i dont understand what comes with the g package. all i know is that it costs about 4,000 more.
A: Basic package is the 26E. This is straight from the 2009 Challenger sales brochure.
26G has antilock brakes, 26E does not.
26G has fog lights, 26E does not.
26E has 17 inch tires, 26G has 18 inch.
26G has dual lighted vanity visors, 26E only has a passenger lighted visor.
26E has a urethane steering wheel, 26G is leather.
26G has an 8 way power drivers seat, 26E does not.
26G has the electronic stability program with hill assist, 26E (you guessed it) does not.
Hope this helps.
Q: How much is a 1970 lime green dodge challenger i love that car so much ever since i seen ben 10 alien force?
and my mom and dad said i am allowed to get a car since i’m 19 so i was wondering ho much it was please help me all you car lovers out there
i wanna know what the price range is
A: My brother in law is selling his for 25000 but not green, orange.THEY RANGE IN FIXED AND RUNNING CONDITION FROM 15,000 – 178,000
Q: with talk about fuel economy i recently saw the new V6 Dodge Challenger that gets 25 mpg city and 35 highway?
It seems pretty economic for the type of car it is? would anyone consider it? Im more for the muscle but i understand how some people would need good gas mileage
A: You need to understand that a muscle car can get very good fuel mileage if you don’t exercise the muscle. Think of a car as a worker at hard labor; using a lot of muscle works up a big appetite.
Q: When in 2011 is the 2011 Dodge Challenger coming out?
Approx. how much will the base (SE) Model cost?
And will Dodge address the serious power issue the 09-10 base model challenges have
they go to 0-60 in like 8 seconds which is horrible
A: uh, it is already out… the base model costs $24,670.
392 CID HEMI V8 engine with 470 HP
Q: i need to know the original body paint color of my 1971 dodge challenger with vin number JS23H1B367129?
the data plate on my 1971 dodge challenger witrh vin number JS23H1B367129 was lost and i need to know the original body paint color and interior colors.
A: Sorry. You are going to need the fender tag or data plate for the paint and interior colors. You may be able to remove one of the door panels and see if there is some over spray of the original color somewhere. You need to look in places where the factory paint may still be present. The vin# will not give you the paint code or interior colors. You vin# decodes as: 1971 Challenger R/T, 3 door hard top, 340 4bbl 275 hp, Dodge main, Hamtrack, MI Good luck!!!
