Q: I’m looking to buy a new or used ford mustang boss. where can i buy the new model and for how much?

A: From what I have read they only made 1000 of them in 2007 and those were considered 2008 models which are already gone.

They are just like the Dodge Challengers, you need to pay for them in advance and then wait, which could take as long as 6 months………

Q: Average price of a used Ford Mustang 2002-2009?
I’m really in love with Mustangs and really want one as my first car (I’m 15 so I’m getting really excited about owning my first stang!)

So I need to start earning and saving my money for a used mustang but I’m not sure how much I need to get saved up.

Any help??

I’m not picky about year because I love almost every year and model, but past 2002 would be preferable (It would probably help minimize car troubles).

A general price range would be great! Thanks!

A: Look on Kelly Blue Book www.kbb.com for prices in your area. With your age, and the fact that you’re paying for it yourself, settle for one with a V-6 engine. Insurance for the V-8 GTs is very high. Also the latest, greatest body style started in 2004.

Q: Buying a used 2002 ford mustang, please help?
I’m living in California, and I’m going to get a 2002 ford mustang for $5,000 and I have about $1,500 to spend on if it had any problems. What do you advise me to do? should I go for it? what is the most common problem with this cars? any other things I need to know about it first?

thanks in advance.

A: If you have a VIN, you might be able to get some info from a Ford/Lincoln dealer in your area. They can look up the technical service bulletins for your model, for your year.

Check out kbb.com for their value on the car. Consumers Reports (just go to the library and find the car edition) can give you some reliability info, too. The National Highway Traffic and Safety site on the web also shows recalls, but that might not be your focus for an 8 year old car.

Q: Where can i find a used ford mustang gt for a cheap price and that is at least a year 2000?
it has to be a good one to

A: for 10 grand i’ll sell you mine!

Q: Does anyone know a website were you can buy a brand new or used 1966 ford mustang engine?

A: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/289-1966-ORIGINAL-FORD-MUSTANG-ENGINE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ140684QQihZ015QQitemZ250056852889QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Q: We need to find a used Ford Mustang engine in the States & have it shipped….?
overseas (son in Military). So, how can we find a reputable place here? We are trying to stay in the budget of $1,600 and then we need to get it crated and shipped over to his base. any advice is appreciated.
I think it’s a 2003 GT but I still need to get more info. from him (sorry).

A: well a model would of help on the est price. if its a v6, a junkyard will charge around 250/300. a gt maybe 500 to 600 ( depending on year ) cobra motor expect anywhere from 1000 to 2000.

gt500,rousch,saleen, good luck finding one.

Q: looking for a good used ford mustang?
lowmilage,GT no more then 5or6 yrs.old
automatic a must convertable

A: Try Ebay

Q: What is the price of a used 2005 ford mustang?

A: Somewhere in between an 04 and an 06.

Q: i have ben looking for a used ford mustang. what are some tips about what to look out for with this car?
i want one that will work for like 10 years and is in the $5000 dollar range no rust no nothing just a bad ass looking car. and in very good shape
ok wow thats no help at all. please be more willing to answer everything please

A: For under 5k, you’re going to find one that is most likely beat up. You want too much for too little. If you want a good car, you’re going to pay for it.

Q: Can someone give me a cost estimate for a 1966 Ford Mustang coupe, used?
I want my first car to be a 1996 Ford Mustang V8 coupe

something sorta like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1966-Mustang-Coupe-3owner-Rust-Free-Beauty_W0QQitemZ330347446738QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item4cea3e01d2&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

How much would it cost to get a used mustang, and say, have to put in a radio, fix scratches and repaint?
and fix the engine
it doesnt go back as far as 1966

A: the one on ebay might go for around $6k, it’s hard to tell, maybe more. you could put another $6k in a hot motor, and again in a hot paint job…it adds up fast..

so what has it got to do with wanting a 96?

Q: Used 2006 Ford Mustang V6?
Recently, I have been looking into used fifth generation Mustangs as a potential car. I am 21 now. So far, I have heard mixed results about the Mustangs such as the 4.0L V6 breaks head gaskets, the 4.6L V8 is unreliable compared to the V6, the ‘99-’04 Mustangs are the most reliable, the 2005-2006 Mustangs are horrid, etc. With all these questions flying around, can someone with some experience with these cars tell me if the Mustang will last 5+ years or 150,000 miles without any significant problems? Assuming I don’t drive it rough and give it regular oil changes and inspections.

The car I am looking at right now had one owner and has 56,000 miles on it, with an average of 18,000 driven per year. Carfax reports that everything is good, but there is one open recall about the passenger airbag. It is $13,500 right now, do you think I should go for it, or will it become another Ford nightmare in the oncoming years?
The Carfax was free on the websites. I have yet to go down to the dealer and check it out, which I will eventually. However, I did look it up on this http://www.carcomplaints.com/Ford/Mustang/2006/index.shtml and so far it doesn’t look good. It has the same amount of problems that my brother’s 2007 Camry has but I obviously suspect that they will be more prominent on the Mustang since it is not as reliable.
Gas mileage, while it is definitely something to look for, is second hand compared to the longevity and quality of the car for me right now. I would be willing to sacrifice a few extra miles as long as it meant I could stay out of the garage.

A: They’re decent cars, the 4.6’s are more reliable than the 4.0’s as long as you don’t get into it every time you start off. Yes they will last many years and at lest 175K miles if it is taken care of and driven properly. I do agree that the 4.6 in the 99-02 is a little more reliable, but only because it isn’t under the same pressures as the 05-09 which make 50 more hp and is under more strenuous conditions.

Don’t believe everything on those automotive feedback sites. A lot of times people complain about something going wrong, and it’s all because they haven’t had they’re vehicle serviced on time and don’t drive the vehicle properly.

Q: should i get a used 2007 ford mustang gt or used 2008 honda accord coupe v6?
The mustangs are really cheap and affordable ($18,000 with 16,000 miles) while hondas are little expensive even used ($24,000 for V6 used) and gas mileage is about the same on both cars (19/28) for the honda and (17/25) for the ford. Mustangs have been around for many many years so im guessing they are reliable and easy to maintain and hondas are just realiable in everybodys eyes. Both cars run on 87 octane, which is good and both are similar in hp with mustang at 300 and honda v6 at 272. I am 20 years old and I saved money for the past 6 years and now i can finally afford a car. Which one is a better buy for 5-6 years?

A: It sort of depends. The Accord is a nicer, more refined car with a more compliant ride and more interior space. It’s engine is smooth and refined and it’s generally a more comfortable car.

The Mustang is more raw. The handling is a little bit vauge, but the engine is very enjoyable. The torque and acceleration that come with the v-8 engine are awesome. Even though the power output is similar, the Mustang will feel much faster. It’s also rear wheel drive which is another experience all together from the front wheel drive accord.

I owned a 2000 Mustang GT for a few years and I really loved the car. I would buy another one if it made sense for me right now. It too was rated at 23 or 24mpg highway but I never saw that. I usually got 20-21 mpg. The accord will probably get 25 or 26mpg and that makes a bit of a difference if gas gets expensive again (as it surely will). The mustang also required alot of maintenance. I had it in the shop every 6 months or so for something or other. Usually brakes. Even with all of it’s faults, the Mustang really thrills you at a more primal level than the Accord will. The Accord flatters your mind with how well engineered the car is and how well it performs it’s intended function. It really is a superb piece of engineering. It doesn’t seem to have the soul that the Mustang does however.
If you can live with the Mustang’s faults and you are someone that really enjoys the v-8 engine and what comes with it, get the Mustang. If you are the more practical type, get the Accord.

For me, I like both things, and it would be a hard choice!
Keep this in mind… the Mustang will cost literally double for auto insurance. No I’m not kidding.

Q: when first time buying a used 1994 ford mustang v8?
what should go get checked out and looked at first to make sure the car is running good and what are some things i should think about changing

A: You’ve got some great answers to your question… .Mustangs idle so sweet…the rumble murmur of the engine is so sweet…but a give away of get out of there is when warm, the idle should not fluctuate more than 50 or so rpm….around 900 rpm….if the fluctuations are more, guarantee there is an oil pressure problem… and more….
If the car has a performance exhaust… A good chance it was beaten…
Car was pushed hard.

Q: Buying a used FORD MUSTANG?
Hey guys, do mustangs really break more than any other car? I was thinking into buying one (year 2003-2004).

A: Of the mustangs I’ve owned I have only had general issues. My 66 I rebuilt the motor at 250K, my 99 I did the clutch at 80K (two weeks before it was totaled in a snow storm) and the alternator at 55K. My 2008 has not had a single problem and I have almost 40K on it already. .

Q: What is the best website to find a used gray ford mustang?
I’m looking for a 2000-2004 used gray ford mustang (not silver) in the california bay area and ive searched all websites and cant find what im looking for. So far ive tried:
yahoo autos
craigslist
ebay
vehix
fastautosales
also alot of others and i havent found one. Please help and give me a website that could help me or a link to the type of car im looking for. Thank you
and painting a different colored one is not an option

A: Autotrader.com or getauto.com

Q: How do I purchase a used Police Charger?
I am interested in purchasing an old, used police Dodge V8 Charger. I know these cars have not been on the road for that long, but I know there have to be some out there for some reason that aren’t used any more and up for sale. Where do I look for one? Do I need to find a police auction?

I know all the sensitive police equipment (electronics, lights, etc) will be removed, as this would be a project car for me. Any help would be appreciated!

A: Get vip auction pass

http://www.seized-cars.net/

Q: for a used car i have to pick between a used mustang, dodge charger, and chrysler 300, which one is the best?

A: 300C SRT8 HEMI, gloss black, Bentley-style grille….I don’t like American cars generally but that’s a show-stopper.

Q: GENERAL LEE… what year is the Dodge Charger used on the Dukes of Hazzard?

A: It’s a 69 Dodge Charger.I just went to a car show in Worcter Mass. and saw an original General Lee from the show.It had the paper work from Universal Studios on the dash.Beau Duke used to be my dream man!!

Q: What song was used in the Dodge Charger super bowl commercial?
The song playing in the background towards the end? It’s catchy.. anyone know who sings it?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RyPamyWotM
Link provided:

A: Hey, I found the song. There’s the original version “HAMMERHEAD” by Simon Hasely from the album “Bite Harder”: The Music De Wolfe Studio Sampler, Vol. 2.
there’s also a remixed version by Beyonce Knowles. I cant find the Beyonce remix.

Q: Hey.. I’m 15 my parents would like to find me an affordable car.. Where can I find an used 2006 Dodge Charger?

A: unless you go for a base model charger you wont find a real affordable one, that’s still a good selling car and the 2006 model was a good car, good luck on finding one,try some local car lots and see how high they are priced, good luck.

Q: Used 2007 Dodge Charger SRT-8?
Ok. So I was just looking around for cars, I’m not really sure what kind of car im looking for. I found a Dodge Charger SRT-8 2007. It costs 6,000. Is this a good deal or should i stay away from a Charger for any reason? My budget is > 10,000. Thanks
If it were a salvaged title, what does this really mean. I know it means it was crashed severley, but whats wrong with it being rebuilt?

A: That car with normal mileage will run you easily over $20,000. If they are selling it for $6000 its either a Scam or the car has major problems. Sure its not a wrecked one being sold for rebuilding?

Q: How far apart are the clips used to hold the sun visor in place in a Dodge Charger year 2006 and up?
I need to know how far apart they are in inches. The part that attaches the sun visor to the roof, to the clip that holds it in place.
Where the sun visor attaches to the roof, i need to know from that point to the other clip on the roof that holds it in place from swinging around. How far apart those two peices are.

A: a little more info pls

Q: is dodge charger a good car to buy?
dodge charger (used) 2.7L. is it good to drive in snow? how does this car handle and everything? overall, is it good to buy?

A: it gets decent mileage but it has almost no performance value. if it doesn’t have optional 4 wheel drive it sucks in snow

Q: what type of oil should be used in a 2007 dodge charger r/t?
when i say what kind i mean synthetic, semi synthetic, or regular

A: i use synthetic oil in most of mine and regular Pennzoil in the others and all use 5-w-30 weight in them, synthetic is a real good oil to to run in any vehicle, it will make the engine run a lot cooler and also last longer and holds up a lot longer than conventional oils do,if you want to make it last a long time run synthetic in it you,ll see a difference in the running temperature of it also, good luck.

Q: should i trade in my 07 dodge charger SE for a used RT with HEMI?
About 5 months ago i got a Dodge Charger SE 2.7 V6. Now that im making a little more money I was wodering if it would be worth trading in my Charger for an RT or if i should just keep me SE and save money for a a year or so and get a different car (like a used BMW or BENZ)………….If i kept the SE i would probably just give it a sexy paint job… Or i could just trade it in for a used low mile charger r/t and pay around 4k difference and just leave it stocked.. Keep in mind im 19 so what would u recomend for a guy like me.? My charger is currently white on 22 chrome rims and im happy with it but i would love that HEMI leather sunroof…ect thank you for your help..

A: You would take a huge loss trading in a car after only 5 months. You should have gotten the R/T in the 1st place.

Q: Question for law enforcement officers who driven/use a Dodge Charger?
Isn’t it too cramped to be a police car? It has a good setup with performance and everything but I think the space is too limited in the back compared to the Crown Vic. Is this right or is there a decent amount of room?

A: Because I am a female, the Chargers are perfect for me, but I have seen some Male officers who look a little cramped, but for the most part, everybody agrees that its an all around better car than the Crown Vic.

Q: Dodge Charger Police Car, Pursuit Model?
Next year, the used police car guys will have used Dodge Charger Police Cars for sale. I want to buy the pursuit model with the V8. Anything I should get that the factory sells that may NOT be on the Charger?. I see a limited slip differential, thicker sway bars, better shocks and springs. Or, don’t bother? does not need them?

And aftermarket items. Should I add more gauges? If so, which ones?

A: If your buying a used one, they will have the beefed up suspension. The interior will be bare bones though. Good luck

Q: What is and who performs the song being used in the Dodge Charger ads that goes “Feeling alive for the first..

A: Lifehouse – “For the First Time”

Q: Dodge Charger a Good first Car.?
Hey Guys,

I am 16 and about to get my license and my parents are going to get me a car the is 20,000k or less. I want a used Dodge Charger black, not the v8 but the 3.5 v6. Is this a good first car to have? Based on insurance rates and safety rates. I also want to make sure there is a place in my car to play my ipod weather it’s a usb thing or the aux insert. Also I may not want a charger so if you guys can list some cars like a dodge charger with a ipod adapter with the sporty car look and not to powerful but not wimpy. So if you could list cars like that, it would be great thanks

A: the 3.5 engine is a good engine. but remember the charger is a BIG car.. 4100 pounds i believe.. so dont expect it to do hard core accelerating. the 5.7 is good. and the 6.1 is a freaking beasty engine!!
the sxt can be AWD also which is nice for the winter time.

Q: Is a Dodge Charger a good 1st Car for my 16 year old son?
My son, who is very responsible and has good grades, has been pleading with me to buy him a used Dodge Charger.

My husband and I have had 2 children already go through the process of getting a car, in which we bought them a Ford Explorer and a VW Jetta, so we know the process of purchasing a car.

My son’s friends have all gotten nice cars (Mercedes C350, Camaro, Mustang, BMW 328i) and I think he wants to find a sedan that he can be proud of.

I personally have never been a fan of Dodge cars, but I will admit I do not know much about the Charger.

My son has “done research” and he tells me that the 2007-Present models have a 2.7L Engine available with only 190-hp, which he says, “Is not that fast and would be safe.”

Our price range is $14,000 and the mileage range is <55,000.

If he can find a model within the criteria, is it a good purchase?
He would be extremely happy.

I’m just concerned about the insurance, safety, etc…
So any information anyone has would be helpful and very much appreciated. Thank You All!

A: I have met similiar kind of problem before, here www.Autoinsurancepro.info is the resource that I feel helpful..

Q: Where can I get a used 2010 Ford Escape Front bumper cover Steel blue Color?
What are my chances at finding one of these in that color at a junk yard? Would I have to get it new?

A: For a 2010? Yeah, you probably need a new one as junk yards wouldn’t have many of them unless they’ve been totaled.

Q: First hand experience pinions on the Ford Escape?
Hello!

I am contemplating the purchase of a “used” Ford Escape as a second vehicle. I have always owned larger vehicles, and when I test drove the one I am contemplating, I discovered it to be a bit “noisier” than I expected. It is not so much “engine” noise, as opposed to “road noise” that I am hearing.

If you own the Ford Escape (or the Mazda Tribute … essentially the same vehicle), I would love to hear your opinions! Thank you!

A: repair parts for these vehicles are expensive, especially if it is a vehicle built for California

Q: Should I buy a used 2010 ford escape or a new 2011 ford focus?
Well it’s actually not me who’s buying it but my mom is buying it for me since I’m 17. I like the ford escapes due to the roominess but I’ve heard of 2008 and 2009 models having transmission problems…and the 2011 ford focus would be good because I could get all the cool features like the gps and sync system…by the way I know nothing about vehicles lol, so which one would be best in your opinion?

A: Personally, I think that the escape looks nicer and like you said, there is more room.
Don’t let what you heard about the transmission discourage you from getting the escape. Besides, what you heard is about 2008 and 2009 models, you’re getting the 2010, right?! If you’re leaning towards the Escape, I’d go for it!

Check out the link and see what you think. You can also read some reviews and click the “research this vehicle” button’s for opinions on both cars to help make your decision!

Good luck!

Q: Ford Escape – 4cyl or V6 ?
.
Im looking for to buy a used Ford Escape about 5 yrs old.

I do country and city driving so would prefer V6.

Can anyone give pros / cons on 4cyl & V6 ?

Any useful advice would be great.
.

A: I personally like the V6 the 4cyl is under powered and sounds like a sewing machine.

Q: Should I buy a used 2010 model SUV or new car that are around same price?
Specifically a used 2010 Ford escape or a new 2011 Ford focus?

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: The fuel gauge light on my Ford Escape, 2007, is burnt out. How difficult is this to repair?
The warranty might cover it, I just bought it used from the dealership.
It’s not that big a deal, and I’m not sure how much trouble I’m willing to go to over it. What would they have to do in order to repair it?
Thank you.
The back light, for driving at night.

A: The back light for driving at night?
Or the one that tells you you’re out of gas?

Q: Just bought a 2008 Ford Escape. I want to keep the nice finish; What kind of cloth & cleaner should I use?
I just want to polish it up a bit when it rains or gets superficial dust. I don’t want to mark the finish. Should I use a wet fake chamois and water or anything better?

A: Use a super soft polishing cloth for dusting off, or you can try one of the Swiffer dusters.

And when you wash it, dry it off with a damp REAL chamois.

If you decide to wax or polish, use McGuire’s NXT or
Nu-Finish Auto Polish…both are excellent.

Also, ALWAYS use a touchless car wash…any other will put scratches and swirl marks on the finish.

Q: Is there a special tool to release the fuel filter on my 2001 Ford Escape?
It has an in-line filter and appears to have quick release hoses on either side. Has anybody ever used this tool and will the fuel pour out of the line when I disconnect it?

How much do you suppose one of these special tools cost?

A: You can use a pair of pliers to release the fittings. You can also rent a tool from AutoZone.

Good Luck

The circular set is called ” AC/ Fuel Line Disconnect Tool Set ” part # 37000, you can purchase it at O’Reilly auto parts store. AutoZone will have the tool also but different part number.

Q: Highest Mileage I Should Consider For A Used Car?
I am looking into buying my first car, and because I am not the richest guy in the world, it will be used (likely a Ford Escape). I have a lot of options I am looking at, but I am wondering about the highest mileage I should consider. I originally thought 30K miles, but am willing to go higher.

I plan to run the car out, and will likely keep it into the hundred-thousands miles range. I am considering the hybrid, do they last that long?

A: Hybrids are a relatively new technology! It may be better to wait till any problems are ironed out & there are mechanics that can repair them!
Any vehicle of any age or mileage is worth consideration if it has been properly maintained! It may help to know the previous owner & know that the older the car the harder it is to find parts for!
30-50K miles, for the most part, is a good ‘just broken in’ starting point!

Q: How do I fix the boot that I “Herced” on the ball joint of my 2005 ford escape?
Used a ball joint fork. Ya gotta believe me, there wasn’t any other way. Do I just have to suck it up and apply grease everytime I change the tires?

A: You can but replacement boots at Autozone…

Q: How can setup my Ford Escape 2006 radio to work in Europe(even FM Frequency Numbers)?
I have a Ford Escape 2006 that i use in Europe but is manufactered in USA. In Europe FM Stations broadcast only in Even Frequency Numbers. (Like 100.0, 101.4 etc) but my Ford Escape Gets only stations that broadcast on Odd Frequency Numbers (Like 101.7, 107.7, 98.1 etc).

Any solution for this ?

A: Go to a Local Ford dealer and see if they wil swap out your radio, or buy an after market unit.

Q: Should my husband and sell back our 2005 Ford escape for a 2008 Ford escape Hybrid?
We bought a 2005 ford escape from Rich ford about two months ago and think it seems to be a better deal buying a brand new vehicle for maybe a few thousand more with a better warranty and better gas mileage. We live in Sandia PArk so we need something that is going to last us for a long time. We figure why put so much money into a used car that has 35 thousand miles on it when we could buy something NEW. We talked to the dealer down 4 thousand on the used I am sure we can talk them down at least 5 thousand for the hybrid especially if we a re putting cash down. Anyone’s knowledge can help…. any dealers out there??? If you can get us a cheaper and better deal we will buy from you,HAHAHA!

A: i dont suggest the hybrid. i have 2 aunts who work for 2 different honda stores and both of them told me that honda did an unpublished research on the long term effects of the hybrid engine and after 7 years of driving an average of 12000 miles per year, the engine puts out more pollution than a ultra low emissions gasoline engine. The study went unpublished because of the Clinton Administration ordered car dealers to manufacture a vehicle that gets more than 40 miles per gallon while producing low emissions.
My aunts work in the service department.

Q: what size wheels do the 2008 escape use?
i was just wondering what size wheels the 2008 ford escape uses. i was looking at rims but i am not sure what size can fit the escape.

A: 17″ p225/65r17
16″ p235/70r16

Q: ford escape 2002, are they good? and the shifter…?
I’m going to check a used Escape, 2002. It is a bit far from where I live, and I have a couple of questions before I decide on whether I wantto go all the way there to check it out..
1. are these car good, solid and reliable?
2. the shifter is in the console. Does it mean it is manual, auto, or manumatic? and how does it work if so?
-it says it has cruise control. do cruise control ones always come Automatic?

Thanks!!
alright, so it is Auto!

A: 1.) That model escape had a very high rollover rating, but other than that i haven’t heard any negatives.
2.) Shifter on the console could mean any of the three, but i highly doubt that the escape has a “manumatic”. I would bet that it is an auto. I have never seen a manual escape, but it is possible i suppose.
3.) Cruise control goes with either manual or auto.

Q: How do you get the unlock code for a used honda accord when you dont know the original owners info?
1996 accord ex

A: honda dealership

Q: What’s a better car: a used Honda Accord or a used Lexus? Which one would you pick?

A: Repairs are expensive on the Lexus..

I’d pick the Accord for sure…

Q: used Honda Accord or new honda city?
new honda city or used honda accord ?

Hi , i am planning to buy a car and my budget is 6 to 7 lakhs.

I am confused to go for a Used Honda Accord 2005 or 2006 model or a brand new Honda city .

What would be the difference in performance , style , comfort and safety of these two cars when compared.

Thanks in advance

A: Personally the Accord is better in this case. First the power on both.. the City doesn’t compare to the Accord.. the Accord is much better.. runs on a 1.8L or 2.0L engine BUT the City is 1.5L or 1.0L

Also comfort in an Accord, they are simple amazing inside. The City is nice but you get alot less space

And last but not least..!!! I’ve heard by City owners the car is a “cheap” version of Honda, therefore… the cars dings and hinges.. the small things, tend to break and get loose easily..

Like I said before, personally… Accord is much better

Q: I am looking for a used Honda Accord, please give me some suggestion?
Hi everyone, I am a really cheap college student and looking for a Accord within my budget. the most I can pay is 6500
The reason I want to buy a Accord is I want a reliable car.
I currently drive a 93 jeep Grand Cherokee with 120K miles on the engine. It did not pass smog check and I am tired to pay $75 full tank of gas and all the maintenance.
I have been doing research on KBB and Craigslist, and some used car tip site. Currently I have my eye on a 2001 accord 2 door EX 100K on craiglist and selling for 6900, I negotiated the price down to 6500 and the seller willing to pay up to $100 for mechanical inspection fees. I am wondering is it a good deal?
Also, should I save more money to buy a toyota corolla with less miles on the engine? For 6500 I can get a 2000 corolla with 70K on the mile.
Or should I pay 7000 for a 99 accord EX 4 dr with 90K on it?
A newer car with more mile or older car with less mile?
Please help me
thanks
Jason

A: not sure where u r, but that is a very good deal in CA.
accords usually coast more than corollas, so you can get a newer corolla for the same money, and numbers show that corolla will give you a better gas millage.
I would go for the newer car, because it shows the car was mostly on highways. And if you dont drive too much it can hold up the value.

Q: how much can i get a used 2008 honda accord?
I want to get a used 08 honda accord in november, and my dad said that he knows good auctions that sells slightly messed up cars for a cheaper price

(my dad got a 03 mercdes benz for only 12k

only thing that needed to be fixed was the oil)

so my dad knows what hes doing at these auctions

so how much do you guys think i can get a 08 honda accord? im only 16 and i paying for it myself…i dont want to spend no more than 11-12k
honda and toyota are the most expensive cars??? what are you smoking??? the honda accord and toyota camry are the 2 most sold cars!! i dont think the american public wants to buy expensive cars

but anyways my dad got his benz in 06 and yes i know i can find a cheaper 08 accord somewhere…i saw a 07 accord for 8k on yahoo autos

A: LoL! You will NEVER get a Honda for 11-12K. Are you joking? This must be a joke! Perhaps if it’s a 10 year old Honda in crappy shape will you buy it for this price. Sorry, but Honda’s and Toyota’s are amongst the most expensive cars because everyone wants them! Don’t waste your money on a car that’s been in an accident, even if it’s a Honda, they will be problematic. Trust me!

Q: Would anyone recommend a used 2002 Honda Accord?
some guy is selling me a used 2002 Honda Accord for 3200 and I was wondering if I would be overpaying for this car. I am 20 yrs old so I don’t exactly know a whole lot about cars or buying cars, so what should I do. By the way the car has 98,000 miles on it…also would the parts be expensive for this type of car?

A: have the car checked out by a mechanic before you buy

Q: I just got a Used 2005 Honda Accord LX (4DR) and the reception on the radio is terrible. What can I do?
Can this be an antenna problem? Is there something that I may purchase to intensify the reception of the radio?

A: The antenna is down, just pull it up.

Q: How much would a used 1998 Honda Accord go for?
I know they are suposed to get good gas mileage. As long as i can put a rack on the top for my snowboard and the thing will get me up to the mountains than i’ll be happy. Anyone have any imput on this car?

A: Check the Kelley Blue Book.

Q: How would I research to look for a used Honda accord wagon. I have tried at least to me a little everything.?
Trying to find one in Los Angeles , Ca .

A: Go to

Q: Just bought a used 1998 Honda Accord – check engine light is on? Passed smog fine!?
Hi, just bought a used Honda Accord. They did a smog test prior to sale ( I have the receipt and certificate of passing), new timing belt about 10,000 miles ago, new brakes.. well taken care of. What in the world could this be? I hear its often the cat, but I’d be surprised based on the fact it just passed smog days ago. Any ideas?

A: Take it to your local Auto-Zone and have them read the codes for the check engine light. That will give you a good starting point.

Q: How much would a USED 2006 Honda Accord cost? ?
how much would a used 2006 honda accord cost? [automatic]

A: Depends on the mileage and condition.
Would cost you anywhere from 6,000-12,000.

Q: where could i find a good used low mileage honda accord engine?
1991 honda accord ex with f22a engine 4 cyl. anywhere i could pick up the engine or car myself? my max price is 500$ w/ a warranty on it.

A: You can check on eBay. I’ve bought a few Civic engines from companies with a short warranty for about $400-$450.

Q: New or used Honda Accord?
I am looking for a new car and I have decided to go with a Honda Accord. I have heard it is better to buy used because of depreciation, but they are offering good finance rates on the newer models.

A: New or Used Honda Accords are built to last. If you want to get a used honda accord try going through Honda Certified Used Cars Program since they offer a warranty with the car, it might be a little more expensive than going to a used car dealer or private seller but down the line, in case you need some drivetrain equipment changed, it could end up on the warranty and save you some cash.

Q: Looking for used Honda Accord?
Hi, I need help finding a used Honda Accord 2003-2004 in Southern California. Actually I found many, but the prices are kinda high for my budget of 12k (12 thousand dollars). If you know any good dealers or specifically the car, please tell me

Thank you in advance!

btw. if you have/know any good looking used cars under 10k, plz tell me. (note: in southern california)

A: www.ebay.com
www.autotrader.com
www.craigslist.com

or check your local newspapers

I wouldn’t buy a car from any dealership….you’re just getting ripped off at higher price

Q: How bad would it be if I bought a used 2001 honda accord?
for $4,500 with 188,000 miles

would you absolutely not buy that or should it be ok still

A: depends what model the accord is. Is it a sedan or a coupe? what kind of engine does it have? 4cyl or v-6?

Go to www.kbb.com and put in the information of the vehicle you are looking at to see if the price that is offered is a relatively fair deal.

But in my opinion, that price seems right.

Q: How would I find out if I can use keyless entry on my 1996 Chevy Silverado Pu?
I bought a used Chevy Silverado pu, and was curious if it has keyless entry capabilities. Would I find this with a VIN search, or is it a dealer only pay them $100 for the answer type of question? Thanks for any help!

A: Please call your local chevrolet dealers parts dept. They will ask for the last 8 numbers of your VIN.They will use these numbers in there parts computer and tell you if your silverado came factory with key-less entry. If your silverado has factory key-less entry you can buy one or more remotes online and program them with the instructions that come with the remotes and save big over dealers cost.Best of luck.

Q: where can i buy an affordable used Chevy Silverado?

A: AUTO TRADER.

Q: i found this used chevy silverado, and i wanna get my parents to buy it for my b-day or christmas but…how!?!?
so there was this used 2005 chevr silverado, and i already drive an old 1988 ford f-150, and its horrible on gas, and this chevy is better than the ford.. its 4×4 and a little lifted, but i would just like to have it cause its newer and better on gas, and i tried to convice my parents to get it but idk if they will so isaid all i want is that truck, anything else i can do to help them get into maybe even thinking about buying it for me?? i told them if they trade my truck now in it will also reduce the price.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: Im looking At Getting A Used 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab?
What should i check for when inspecting the truck? i have no experience with diesel trucks so i need to know what to look for. It has the 6.6 diesel V8, automatic transmission, 4 wheel drive, with 95,000 miles on it. im plaining to do a carfax history check on the truck as well.

A: When looking at a diesel, 95,000 miles should not be a concern. Diesels run well over 200,000 miles (400,000) before a rebuild is necessary. (not 100% sure on the Duramax longevity but should be up there) That engine is probably barely broke in or not. The automatic transmission and drivetrain is my main concern when looking at a vehicle. Appearance is important, usually if it looks rough on the outside it more or less has not be well maintained, or worked really hard. But not every time. If there is maintenance records that is a good sign of being maintained well. Inspect the u-joints, driveshafts, rearends. Most importantly test drive it, make sure that trans shifts. I assume being a diesel it has the GM Allison 5 speed. If so im already happy, but still test drive it, make sure everything works(4×4 in and out ect) Check for leaks, tire condition and inspect the engine for leaks or issues. Exhaust is not a big deal, but check it anyway. Last thing you want to do is buy a vehicle you have to replace stuff on or work on yourself!! Combine all this with your report and it should help you make a quick decision. Good Luck!!

owned a 2003 2500 HD 4×4 8.1 Vortec 5 Spd Allison

Currently 2001 Dodge 2500 4×4 Cummins Turbo Diesel

Q: Looking at buying a used Chevy Silverado 6.5L Turbo Diesel 246k Miles.?
It has an extended cab it is a stick shift 4X4. any idea on how long i can expect the engine to last? also any idea on the MPG City/Highway? year is 1994. anyone who has owned this truck before have any opinion? (I dont want to hear “chevy is crap” i want actual opinions from owners.

A: I can thuroughly anwser this, as i have a 2000 gmc 6.5L The biggest problem is the crankshaft shatters if you drive it too hard without warming it up. The pump mounted driver also failes due to overheating because of poor placement in the motor, just move it and that will prevent issues, usually. I have had it for 8 months only to replace a starter ($240). I get 14-18 mpgs, but mine was modified, so it might hurt the mpgs, i hear lots of people get 17-low twenties. Now i don’t know anything about the manual, because i have a 4L80e automatic transmission, so certianly youll get better mileage than me. Its certainly no competitor with Cummins, or Powerstroke, but it certainly is the most affordable of the three. The thing thats bugging me the most, is no one in my area knows these diesels very well, so i take it to the specialist in town, and also, there i really no modifications, or performance add ons, like the chip programmers. Any diesel engine can usually last a good 300k. But regualar matience, and synthetic fluids will give you much more engine life.

Q: I have two Chevy Silverado w/ Generator installed-used for towing and power. I need to sell?
Chevy Silverado w/ Generator installed-used for towing and power

Any helpful information you might have on how to sell these trucks would be appreciated. Thanks!

A: ebay

Q: I have an 05 Chevy Silverado with 42000 miles on it, the tires are shot. The truck is used for pulling a boat?
I have an 05 Chevy Silverado with 42000 miles on it, the tires are shot. The truck is used for pulling a boat on weekends and a trailer to haul wood in the winter. The tires have been rotated at 20K because the front tires were wearing quicker then the rear tires. I had it in for inspection and the front tires are almost to the threads on the inside only in the front any guess as to what may be causing it?
I bought the truck new, the tires are not wearing even only on the insides, I never even noticed it until I took it in for inspecton. However I have felt something in the steering when I go around turns especially.

A: Maybe front end out of alignment That will be a good place to start, hope this helps.

Q: Used 2001 chevy silverado?
How much would a used 2001 chevy silverado thats jacked up cost

A: jacked up?

as in not running?

1500 – 2500

otherwise, in running condition a lot depends on miles and condition..

sight unseen 6000 -9000

Q: What is the gear oil used in a 2007 Chevy Silverado Z71 4×4 automatic in the front transfer case?

A: Your owner’s manual will tell you under the capacities and fluid specifications section.

Q: What kind of tranny fluid do I use 98 chevy silverado?
What kind of tranny fluid do I use on a 98 chevy silverado? I have the vortec v8 engine. 5.7 liter. There was something on there that said dexter or something like that… They have stage three and four and all kinds of other stuff… Does anyone know what I need for sure? Thanks for the help

A: Dextron III Mercon

Q: where can i buy a used hood for a 1994 chevy silverado truck?
prefer maroon in color, and less than 100.00.

A: Look in your phone book for your nearest Pick-A-Part or Pull-A-Part junk yard, call & see what they have. They you & your buddies just go down & get it off the truck.

Q: whats good off-roading parts for a chevy silverado for cheap?
i want to buy a used Chevy silverado and go off road in pismo and glamis type areas but i need to know what stuff to put on the truck like engine mods and suspension like long travel

A: Sorry, I can not recommend any for cheap……off roading is an expensive hobby. Cheap or lack of proper parts will result in serious damage costing more than the money you saved.

Q: what is the engine life expectancy of a chevy silverado?
i am looking for a good used silverado and would like to know how many miles is too many in a used truck.

A: Well maintained: 300,000 mi.
Poorly maintained: 75,000 mi.

Q: What type of ATF does a 1500 ‘99 chevy silverado use?
The truck is a 1500 1999 silverado, 5.3L

A: DEXRON 3

Q: What should I look out for when buying a used bmw m3.?
I am getting my first car soon and the only car that I want is a m3 coupe 95-99. I have about 7 grand right now and I am wondering what I should look out for when buying the m3. All help is greatly appreciated.

A: Call a local BMW dealership’s service department with the VIN and check the service history. Due to the age of the car, there will probably be a lapse but that isn’t a bad thing.

Service expenses for the M3: oil change $150; brake job $400; scheduled service $650-800.

There are no ‘typical’ problems with the M3 except for tire wear. Because it is a race suspension, the tires don’t last more than ~10,000 miles and are very expensive.

Because you are looking for an older model, I would recommend contacting the local BMW owner’s group for information and assistance. They may know of some well maintained M3s for sale.

M3s are terrific cars but they are not really for every day driving. If it is your first car, I would recommend something else for now. I have always loved BMWs (the Ms especially) but they can be very expensive to own and I waited until I could afford to own one before I bought my first M.

You need to make a realistic decision…the last thing you want is your cool car parked in the driveway because you can’t afford to fix something.

Q: Tips and advice on buying a used Bmw M3. help plz?
i want a used m3 PREFERABLY certified pre owned. something under 35,000. Ive heard that the repairs can cost alot thats why im wanting a CPO. If you think i shouldent get this car then what would be a good alternative?

A: - 2001- (first quarter) 2003 S54 rod bearing engine recalls
- 50-60K miles Inspection 2 should done including valve adjustments
*higher milage is fine long as its been taken care of.
-have a trust worthy mechanic to spec it before hand.
- make sure the SMG software has been updated by dealer.

Honestly, M3 is good in reliability overall except the electronic gadgets inside the car. Only problem I had is my blower fuse keeps blowing every 2-3 months which is an easy fix..other then that its an excellent car as long as you take good care of it. *change oil between 4K-7K rather then 15K.* Also M3 requires rear michelin tires every 10-12k miles and 15k for the front @ $350-400 EACH. I get around 13.5 mpg city/highway together. For SMG equipped car, ask the dealer about how many times previous owner used “launch control” so you get the feel on how much its been abused. SMG failure does cost an arm and a leg. Clutch usually last around 80K-100K for SMG and it does take more effort replacing it then a 6 Speed.
hope this help

Q: anyone know how much a used BMW m3 is worth?
I heard the automatic is “rare” so that might up the price a bit but just want a idea thanks

A: “Rare”, yes. Rare enough to make a big difference in resale value, no.

Before anyone can give you an “idea” on value, we’d need the year, miles, etc.

Q: Help needed in Buying Used BMW M3?
Hello All, I am planning on buying a used BMW M3 and I have a couple deals right now and would like to ask you people which one is better and what are the pros and cons.
1. 2005 M3, SMG, coupe, 20K miles – $38000
2. 2003 M3, Manual, Hardtop convertible, 55k miles – $28000
3. 2004 M3, Manual, coupe, 24K miles – $35000
I always wanted to buy a hardtop convertible but then the miles scare me on that car. How much would an extended maintenence warranty cost me for upto 100K?
And also the third car owner states she has maintenence warranty untill Nov 2008 & full service warranty untill 2010. What is this service warranty???

Someone please help me here.. Also note.. I live in a place where it snows for 4 mons in an yr & I have a luxury sedan to drive in that period. and this will be my second car for fun.

And also what are the main things I need to be looking / checking for before buying such a costly sports car. how abt the tires ??? please help.& also my budget is around 35K

A: I have an 02 with 63K on it. Still feels, looks, and drives like new. It’s all in how well it’s taken care of. Oil changes are every 15,000 miles, or annually, whichever is first. For me it’s annually. Oil is about $9 a quart, 7 quarts, plus filter cartridge. There is only one kind of oil it can take. Castrol TWS motorsport 10W-60.
Rear tires are every 15000 miles also. Fronts maybe 25000 if you’re lucky.
If it were me, I’d go for the 2004. Not a convertible, and not SMG are my reasons. Mileage is not a consideration unless it’s really high. Do not drive in snow. You already have that covered. Good. I’m sure the car would do just fine if it sat higher, and didn’t have 40 series tires on it. I put wider tires on mine, so they’re 35s in the back now, even worse.
SMG is great for a track, but regular driving I prefer the manual. Not sure what shift by wire means, unless he was referring to the SMG, because the manual stick goes straight into the gearbox, no wires, no linkage really other than the stick.
Don’t worry about repair costs, mine has cost very little, if at all. Inspection 2 is every 30000 miles which means all three are about due, at a cost of ~ $1500. Only #3 might be free because of the maintenance warranty. Mine has had two of them already, both covered by the maintenance warranty, which is now expired. Oh and gas mileage, officially it was listed as 16/24. I have never seen 16, and get more than 24 on every fill up. I average 25 all the time, don’t know how high it would be highway only, I’m thinking over 30, as I’ve gotten 28-29 on long highway trips myself, but I wasn’t going 55 which is how the EPA tests I think. 25 is really good for 333 HP in my opinion. I don’t drive with a light foot either.

Mine is for sale, $26000 if you’re near Denver, with lots of later model retrofits like Sirius, MP3, LEDs, front strut brace, etc. It’s a wonderful car and I’m having a hard time deciding to sell it. I love BMW 6 cylinders, but I also test drove a new one and love it too. So if someone says they’ll buy it, I guess I’ll let it go.

edit:
Mr. Fred, I don’t know why you are calling me out on my answers, but allow me to explain so that the original question asker isn’t confused by your remarks. Not trying to continue a “pissing match”, but I feel since I am right, I must explain. I am providing examples of what I have seen and what I do to my E46 M3, to provide information related to the question.

As I said, I OWN an E46 M3, I drove it off the lot with 3 miles on it. I know what BMW insists is the right oil, and it is not 15W-50, I have the service bulletins, and the sticker under the hood specifying use only the oil I stated. You can go to Walmart if you like. Inspection 2 is more than a simple fluid check. It includes a valve adjustment, which is why it is so expensive. As I stated, I have not paid for one yet, but I know what the dealer would have charged. I changed my tire widths because I was doing track days. See my avatar? That’s me. That has nothing to do with anything though, I was simply stating that it is no good in the snow, even worse with wider tires. And there is no wire or cable for the transmission, it’s not a transaxle. I’ve been under the car and changed the oil on the transmission with- well I’ll just say it wasn’t from Walmart. I would think that an owner of an E46 M3 can speak the truth about what oil to use and what maintenance costs better than an E36 owner. I wouldn’t tell an E92 owner that they don’t know what they are talking about after owning if for 6 years. When I turn my key on, the service indicator says 15525 miles to next oil change after I just did it. Explain that. It counts down mile for mile unless the engine is cold or being driven hard, at which point it counts down faster. BMW wants it in for an oil change every year if you don’t get to the 15000 miles. I’ve had this car for 6 years, I think I know how to change the oil and what the service guys at the dealer have told me. And since I own this car and fill it up on a regular basis (with premium) I know what kind of mileage it gets, you are guessing.

Q: anyone selling a used bmw m3 for around 30k?

A: Check ebay and carmax.com there are TONS and TONS of them.

I bought a 92 M3 with a Dinan Kit for $30k with only 42k miles on it.

Q: Where can i find a used BMW M3 2002-2005 (30 grand or below)?

A: http://www.bmwcca.org/
They’ll know.
Also search for “bimmer” as the name….
there used to be a great nationwide
classified ads database but I couldn’t
find it for you just now.
Look at http://www.kbb.com under
Used Cars, too.

Q: Given the choice of a new BMW 135 or a used 2005 BMW M3, which would you choose?

A: I would be hard pressed not to name the M3 the best car in the whole BMW line-up, “dollar-for-dollar”. Therefore, I would go for the M3 over 1 Series, just a different class of car.

Q: Can the BMW M3 GTR can be used in career mode in nfs carbon?
If Yes please say me how to use.

A: no u can only use it on quick races, u use it ONCE when u first start the game but u crash it and have to get another car

Q: What is the expected used price of the 2008 BMW M3?
I saw one that had 8,000 miles and it was priced at $41,900. Is this something that I will be seeing more often, cuz Im lovin’ it

A: 8,000 miles is considered new, not used.
No New car has 0 miles.

A Used car would be over 10,000 miles.

$41,900 is pretty cheap anyway.
It should cost $57,000.

Q: What’s a good price for a 2000 model BMW M3? (used but not abused)?

A: $0. In 2000, BMW did not make M3’s as they were between the e36 (1995-1999) and the e46 (2001-2006).

Q: About how much would insurance cost for a first time driver driving a BMW M3?
A 2003/2004 BMW M3 Used

A: If you have an M3 you shouldn’t be concerned about insurance costs.

Q: How much would a used 2008 BMW m3 cost ?
I live in wtby CT

A: It depends.

You HAVE to buy a good one, not one that’s been thrashed to death.
I’m from the UK and used to have a 2003 M3.

Now I live in Canada. I bought my 2008 M3 here in Winnipeg last March, paid $69K CAN – $65K USD with 12,400 km on the clock and fully loaded, in black. It’s a sweet ride!

My sister bought her M3 in the UK last year for £37,900 – $61K USD with 18,400 KM on the clock. Hers is silver.

You should definitely think of spending close to $60K for a really good one, less than 50,000 KM on the clock. M3s are expensive to fix over this side of the big pond.

Good luck!

Q: Whats an average dealership price for a used 2000 and 2001 BMW M3?

A: well, first off the m3 was not made in 2000 for the states, and the 2001 was the first year of the e46 M3 which with higher milage today will go for about 25k-32k depending on the milage. a 2005 can still go for about 40k-45k or so, just depends on milage and year

Q: How is the BMW S54B32 Engine for 2002 M3?
I’m looking to buy a used 2002 BMW M3. The engine has 53000 miles on it. How is the S54B32 engine? Will I have many mechanical problems with this vehicle? Any input would be nice. Thanks!

A: You will find excellent advice on this BMW forum; it’s one of the largest car-enthusiast internet communities, and it’s packed with people who would be eager to help you out!

www.bimmerforums.com

Q: 2003 onwards BMW M3 Buying used (UK)? What to check?
Im looking for a buying guide, list of checkpoints etc

A: I recommend Auto trader full vehicle check. Just type in the registration and for 24.99
the service checks:
>if the vehicle has been reported stolen
>if the vehicle has been incorrectly described
>Written off or scrapped
>Subject to outstanding finance
>Subject to previous plate transfer

Q: I’m looking to buy a Jeep Wrangler 4 cyl, 5spd,1990-1997. What should I check mechanically when I am looking?
I am looking to buy a used Jeep Wrangler. I owned a 1995 Jeep Wrangler from 1995-2003. I already know some common problems that Jeeps have i.e. rust, leaking slave cylinders, clutch issues. I’m a girl and don’t want to get ripped off when I am looking around. Any tips on what else to look for when I go check out vehicles. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

A: Transmission, transfer case and differentials. Also check for leaks in engine seals and ask for maintenance records. Check the U-joints, brakes and cables. Body damage is awesome so let it go. That is unless its in the floor then it sucks. I would avoid any jeep with the Peugeot BA/ 10 Transmission as they are pretty crappy and found in most wranglers pre-1993 The 4 cyl had the AX-5 Transmission until 2003 (also a shit box but better than the peugeot) and all 6 cyls had the AX-15 until about 2002 when they went to the NV3550. The AX-15 is a good gear box.

Q: 89 used jeep wrangler?
Right now I’m looking at this jeep wrangler its a 89 and its got 111,000 miles on it. automatic, 4.2 straight 6. Runs good for $2500

Would it be better to get a newer jeep? I have herd that the older are easier to fix, any information please help! Had two Grand Cherokees, I am sick of those.

should I try to get the price lower or is this a good price?

A: If I were buying a YJ (square headlights) Wrangler, I’d look for a ‘91 or newer. The engines are fuel injected not carbeurated, which makes them more dependable. I find the fuel injected ones easier to fix, as well, but then I never did get along with carbs too well. Other than that, if you can get the price on that one down a couple of hundred dollars, it may be worth it.

Q: Can anyone please tell me what type of Mercedes transmission is used in the Jeep Wrangler?
I want to install an antomatic transmission controller, preferably with paddle shift, and would be grateful for any help or advice

A: The Mercedes NSG 370 six-speed manual was in Wranglers

The Mercedes W5A580 automatic is used with the 3.7-liter V-6 Grand Cherokee.

Q: Used 2007+ Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for $17000 or less?
Looking for Jeep wrangler Unlimited 4Dr. 4×4 Auto trans for 17k or less witch has been quite a task for myself.. I’ve been looking for weeks.. Autotrader, Craigslist and many other used auto sites.. any suggestions or help?!?

A: Good luck?

I can find plenty of Wranglers in Houston that are a couple of years (or more) older than that that seem to still command that kind of asking price.

Q: Will I still be able to get a used ’80s Jeep Wrangler down the road?
I really would like one of those 80’s Jeep’s to drive around in.

Will I still be able to get one down the road?

(I do not want a new one, I drive around the city a lot, so this vehicle is going to take some abuse from door dings and other damages, even though I am horribly crazy about keeping my cars pristine)

A: You could probably find one, but im not sure how long down the road until you wont. Even the Grand Cherokee’s from 93-98 are getting harder to find i noticed as the years progress.

Q: Does anyone know where i can get a jeep wrangler ,used runs good and for $1000?
please im off to college and in desperate need of a wrangler

A: well. aside the mention of eBay, nobody here has given you a real answer.

I would look around Craigslist in your area. www.craigslist.org

Believe it or not, there are people who desperately need to get rid of their jeeps. It won’t be in phenomenal condition, and you’ll most likely spend more money repairing it than you spent to purchase, but that’s the place to look.

Q: I am buying a used jeep wrangler unlimited 4 door. Should I buy one with a hard top or soft top?
Whichever one I buy, I plan to buy the other type of top and install it so that I have both available. Which is harder and more expensive to do after the fact? I have availability of both hard and soft tops that I’m considering but I’d like to keep in mind the “hassle factor” post-purchase of which one is harder to deal with, if any. Thanks.

I’m looking at used 2007/2008 models, 4 door, wrangler sahara unlimited. Thanks.

A: I have a 2010 Unlimited with dual top option, which gives you both choices from the start.

Some people do have problems with the hard tops leaking, but not all. My hard top has never leaked and when I have it on I’m constantly removing and reinstalling the front freedom panels any day its above 50* and not raining. Furthermore, I know three other people in my area with hard tops and none of them have had problems with leaks either.

If you don’t have the choice of buying a Jeep with the dual-top option, then starting with the hard top (if you need it) would make the most sense. Buying a new hard top costs over $2,300, though you can frequently find used hardtops for sale on sites like http://www.JKOwners.com and http://www.JK-Forum.com for half or less. Conversely, a new OEM soft top costs around $1,500 and there are third-party alternatives as low as $700. Again, used soft-tops are available on the above websites for 70% or less the of the new costs (and are much cheaper to ship).

Neither is particularly difficult to install after the fact. Removing and installing the hard top requires two people to lift it into place or a hoist (which can be bought or made) and dealing with eight Torx T50 screws. Installing the soft top requires installing plastic door surrounds with knobbed screws and screwing the crossbow bracket into the roll cage.

Q: Can hard top doors be used on a 1993 jeep wrangler with a soft top?
I would really much rather have doors with glass windows. Will hard top doors work, or is there anyway to put glass windows on it?

A: The YJ (1987 thru 1995 Wranglers) have different doors. The upper rear corner on the soft top is square, it’s round on the full doors. You have a couple of options here. You could get the soft door tops with the glass sliders, like somebody else mentioned. You could get the full doors from the hard top and buy a Bestop Supertop, which is designed to work with the full doors.

Good luck

Q: what is the name for this part of a “92 jeep wrangler?
I just got a used jeep wrangler, and the back right piece of the body is dented in, but i dont know the name for this part, its the part that is directly to the right side of the tail light and above the back bumper, thanks.

A: rear quarter panel

Q: finding a used jeep wrangler?
locating to see in person,,?

A: craiglist, auto trader, used car dealerships, classified ads. i got my 91 jeep wrangler from a used car dealership.

Q: Should I buy a used jeep wrangler or hair?
Yeah…that. LoL all you want. I’m just tired of looking like a 40 y.o. man dressing in DC and baggy pants. I hate this weak a$$ hairline. -_- I started shaving about 1yr ago and don’t think much of it. I just wonder if maybe I would get more attention from girls if I had a normal head of hair. Well thats the main reason I want to “buy” hair.(transplant) The reason I want a jeep is just to get away and go kayaking…by myself. And snowboarding, by myself.

A: Seriously, keep shaving your head and buy the Jeep. You will save on shampoo and have a hell of a time in the Jeep. You’ll be more aerodynamic too when you have the top off and that will save you gas Not to mention you can just squeegee the mud off your head! And dont forget all the girls that love “Jeep Guys” I just bought my first Jeep, a 1998 Wrangler and I am looking forward to seeing what she can do. That might be the answer because if you buy your hair and it does not work out, you cant sell it on craigslist! LOL My honest advise as a 41 yo guy in the same general boat, I would say forget the vanity and just have fun. When you do that you will be yourself and that will attract alot of girls. Good luck and happy Jeeping!

Q: I am 15 and i want to buy a used jeep wrangler when i’m 16. I can afford the car, i just dont know about gas?
I’ve been checking out used jeeps on kijiji and sites like that, i’ve found some nice ones for about 10,000 dollars and i my dad and i would be able to afford that. But the thing is i want to know more about jeeps… how do they drive around the city and on highways? How is the gas mileage and would gas be affordable enough? I know a few people with jeeps around my age and they seem fine with it.. but i just don’t know if its a car for a 16 year old.. and if it isnt what is? I want a truck or an suv

A: MPG can’t be part of your decision matrix when considering a Jeep. They are not designed to be fuel-efficient. Don’t make the mistake of getting the 4-cylinder to save on gas — you will regret it.

They are noisy and rough on the street. But most Jeep owner’s could care less. Take off the top and the doors (remember to put on mirrors, though, or get a ticket) and head off-road, or even just down to the beach/lake and enjoy the sun.

Jeep owners are a different breed of car enthusiasts. Now, with the 4-door Wrangler Unlimited, there’s more soccer mom’s driving Jeeps than ever before. Yes, a Jeep can be a Mall Crawler, and you can still be a happy Jeep owner. But they were really designed to be taken off-road.

If you want a more comfortable and refined vehicle that still has some off-road capabilities, but much better highway manners, consider a Nissan Pathfinder or xTerra, or a Toyota 4Runner, which you can probably find in your price range.

Q: How can I get used Army Wrangler jeep in Iraq?
I need cheap Jeep

A: Dredge the river Euphrates !

Q: I am planning to buy a used 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. What do you think of yours?
My wife and I are considering the purchase of a used 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. We have 3 young kids with another SUV and a sedan. This would be a “fun” purchase. This would be my vehicle to drive to/from work (mostly surface streets, 25 minutes each way) and mine to use when I go mountain biking. I don’t tend to have more than 2 kids in the car per trip but it would be nice to fit all 3 car seats in the back if we really needed to.

The one I’m looking at is a hard top. Manual transmission. 22,000 miles or so, about $27,500 in price, one of those certified dealer warranties at 6 years/80k miles.

I’ve never owned a jeep. Looking for feedback about reliability, what people think of theirs, etc.

Thanks.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: are jeep wrangler or wrangler unlimited easy to brake into? if so how?
(i might be planning on getting a used jeep wrangler as my first car and i need to know if it is easy to brake into because of its removable hard top. i am getting a hard top not a soft top.)

A: It’s not that they are easy to break into, they are easy to steal parts from. The hard top bolts into the sides of the body and clamps into the top of the windshield. It is only made of fiberglass and they are easy to crack.

Still…regardless of
the top you choose…most all jeep owners know not to leave anything valuable in their rig, top on or not as windows are always easy to break.

Jeeps can be rather spendy, they are not good on milage either. Jeepers tend to be loyal to the brand though….you can run them till the wheels fall off.

how much would a used 2002 camaro be?

A: Scruffy please use the link posted. This link will show you kelly blue book price on the different models of the 2002 camaro. Please excuse some of the rude posters.Best of luck.http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Spec_Glance.aspx?year=2002&make=Chevrolet&model=Camaro&trimid=-1

Q: How do Install a used supercharger on my camaro?
I want to get an eaton m90 supercharger off ebay and stick it on my 1985 Z-28. It’s the 5.0 liter v-8 and I’ve got a Holley 650 carb. Is there an install kit or is it just know-how and fabrication?

A: just make sure it for the small block chevy and there should be no fabrication it should be just a bolt on kit

Q: How much is the average price for a new or used engine in a 98 camaro? Add labor also?
Im selling my 98 camaro for $1350 it needs a motor, but other than that car is in good shape. Am I overcharging?????

A: That’s a little much. Whether the engine will be used or new will depend on the buyer.

There aren’t many cases where a newer engine is completely gone. I’d personally keep it and get a gently used engine [Under 80,000 miles]. It might be pretty fun to rebuild your current one as well. I’m in the process of restoring a badly abused 89 Oldsmobile Cutlass and at first I thought I would just give up, but it’s actually become pretty fun and rewarding. Whatever you decide to do, good luck.

Q: How much would a used Bellhousing for a 94 Chevy Camaro?
5 speed manual V6 Engine? Like a used one at a salvage yard or somthing?

A: Fifty bucks, maybe less. The market is tight now. Negotiate! I would start at twenty and look like I was leaving at $30.

But that’s going to the junkyard and finding your own part. You’ll have to check out several to find it.

Q: What is a good amount of miles a used 1988 chevrolet camaro iroc-z have?

A: It’s assumed the average driver puts 12K miles on a vehicle each year. Therefore a 21 year old car would have 252,000 miles under that assumption..
But, a lot of Camaro’s are either summer or hobby cars so many of them have much less mileage than that.

Q: What parts from another model can be used for a 1967 Camaro SS?
Please include the year of the model. And please list as much as possible
THANKS =]

A: Only body parts are 68 Camaro. 67 doors had vent windows. 68 rear quarters, & front fenders had marker lights. Most all suspension / under carriage parts will inter change with 68 – 69 Camaro’s, & 67 – 69 Firebirds.

Q: What size bolts are used in a 97 camaro to hold on the compressor?

A: just a guess 13 mm and maybe 14 mm or 3/8 and…duh im stumped stupid metric system

Q: How much do you think I can buy a used left door for a ‘93 Camaro?
My dad’s Camaro’s door is kinda beat up. Well, the whole car is kinda beat up. The door itself is at a tilt to the frame of the car. I looked at it and the hinges seem to be falling apart. Also, the window motor in the car is broken. It won’t raise the window. I want to buy another door so that it doesn’t get rained on or anything. How much do you think it will cost or does it take a brain surgeon to repair it?

A: It all depends where you plan on finding one and what shape it`s in. On this site I have seen them anywhere from $100-$700.

http://car-part.com/

Q: Where can I find an used Camaro to buy? Should I try eBay?

A: Yes, eBay is good. Try Autotrader.com too.

Q: How much for a used engine for a 1995 Camaro – 5 speed – 6 Cylinder ?
Need an idea for how much the Parts and Labor would cost.

Most likey I will try to find someone who does them on the side rather than a service station to save money.

A: The price of used engines covers a wide spectrum of prices.
You will be able to get a good idea at this link: http://car-part.com/
Labor will be about 8 hours. Prices for this can also be very different. Around here they are as low a 35 dollars an hour to 150 dollars an hour.
Shop for the best price for the dollar, make sure that the engine will pass a compression test. Remember that some one who does these jobs on the side can take weeks to do what a shop can do in one.

Q: Looking for a used 2010 Camaro?
Hey I am looking to buy a 2010 Camaro and would like to spend $20,000 or less. I realize it is hard to find this right now since they havent been out very long, but the 6 cylinder LS Camaro new is around $25,000 so im trying to find a used one for under 20, preferably in yellow. thanks!

A: Check with your local car rental companies to find out what they do with their Camaros when they get rid of them. Most of them will go to the auction and only a dealer can get one. Find a dealer that is willing to look for one for you and set a price you are willing to pay (condition and mileage) for the vehicle. Most likely this will not be a Chevrolet dealer but a used car dealer. There is probably a local dealer that buys mostly auction vehicles to resale because they can get them cheaper.
I work at the local Avis and we turned our Camaros back in with around 6-7k miles on them. We had the 6 cyl and the SS models.

Q: Is $200 a good price for a used ‘88 Camaro fender and door?
Yeah, I’m a chick and don’t know much about cars. But my Camaro needs a new door, fender, etc. and my friend found a fender and door at a junkyard from a Camaro that was hit on the opposite side that mine was. So is 200 a good price? For those parts that look brand new and are the same color as my car?

A: I work at a salvage yard and those fenders normally go for about $75 and the door (electric) around $150, so yeah pretty good deal. Very lucky find.

Q: How much will an 02′ camaro cost in 2014 if its used?
i really want an 02 camaro when im able to drive but i cant get it if it cost more than like two thousand maybe three.

A: That’s a ways away still, and then there’s the condition of the car.
Considering the time frame, check the price on ‘97 Camaro. A decent ‘97 will set you back about 2.5k, but ‘02 Camaros are special. Granted that ‘97 was the 30th anniversary, ‘02 was the 35th anniversary and the final production year for the car up until this past March when the 2010 model was brought to the market. Because of that, they’ll always be worth a little more than the Camaros with the same body style, which would be ‘98-01 (the new front end was released in the ‘98 model year).
Of course, this is all assuming that people will still want these cars. You might actually be able to get an ‘02 or around 2.5k in five years. Who knows? Cars are risky business.

Q: how much is a used 2010 camaro worth?
I seen one in a delearship, its got the looks also a cool color. and the prize is $20,625, it seemed like a pretty good deal, not to mention the inside is in pretty good shape.

but the mileage seem pretty high 20,427 miles thats a lot from my opinion is this a good prize or do any of you think i can talk the dealer to lower the price

A: It,s probably a v6 model…Thats why it seems cheap…Who wants a muscle car with 6 cylinders?Not me….

Q: How much will a used 2009/2010 Chevy Camaro approximatly cost in 2-3 years?

A: 12

Q: What is the coolest sports car under 100k?
This includes used ferraris, and brand new sports cars, dodge vipers, corvettes etc. Basically the question is if I had 100k what would be the best sports car to buy, and since there really is no where to use the full speed of a sports car it’s basically the wow factor i’m interested in.

A: Saleen S302 Sterling Extreme comes right into your budget. It may be a ‘Stang but Saleen definitely know how to tune their ‘Stangs. Those Vipers and ‘Vettes will be eating your dust on a racetrack. Also there is the Lotus Exige as others have stated but being a track car, even the air-con and floor mats are optional extras, and the semi-racing slicks would wear a s***-load quicker than normal tyres. They’re also awkward to get in and out of. The Toyota VVT-i engine is a blast though. Steve Saleen has also made a new business tuning Dodge, his first one is the SMS 570 Challenger. You could also go for a BMW M6, Jaguar XKR, and a Porsche 911 Carrera. The possibilities are nearly endless.

Q: F1: What is the disadvantage in driving in “dirty” air?
I hear references to drivers not wanting to be driving in dirty air. Apparently some cars are not so good in dirty air (commentary reference to Vettel’s Red Bull not getting past Jens in Turkey).

I know the dirty air refers to the air turbulence from the car in front. But, I thought it was beneficial to be in a car’s slipstream to enable a slingshot pass.

Also I saw an episode of Top Gear some time ago when they raced a Transit van round the Nurburgring and used a Dodge Viper to run ahead “to create some clean air”.

So, I am thoroughly confused! Is the air clean or dirty when you are behind a car, and is it good or bad?
@Chris S: That’s what I thought, and I know that drafting is an essential part of NASCAR for exactly the reasons you clearly explain. That’s why I’m so confused when in F1 they talk about dirty air behind a car.

A: Wiki defines dirty air thusly:

Dirty air
The air disrupted by a car when it moves at speed, which can cause aerodynamic difficulties for a car following closely behind. The opposite of clean air.

Clean air
Air that has not been affected by turbulence from other cars.[2] The opposite of dirty air.

If you could see it, dirty air would look something like the wake behind a boat; churned up, little eddys that make it a hard ride for either a water skier or another boat riding in the wake – dirty water, as it were.

In F-1, dirty air doesn’t flow over the front wings smoothly, as clean air would. I suspect that means the down force on the wings isn’t smooth and consistent. At speed, the differences are minuscule. But like balance and so many other things affected by the laws of physics, a smooth air flow is always better than an interrupted air flow – even if interruption is only for milli- or micro-seconds.

EDIT: didn’t notice the thing about the van. If you could see the flow of air over a sport car like Viper, it is a smooth flow over the top of the car. It “opens a hole in the air” for a [in this case, larger] vehicle behind it. It breaks wind – no, make that breaks air – so the van doesn’t have to open the hole in the air itself. This reduces the drag Chris is talking about for the van. But the Viper does not create clean air. Sounds a little confusing. I’ll try to find some diagrams or animations to help you, but in the meanwhile, hope this helps a little.

EDIT2; Here’s a link to get you started, a pic of a sedan in a wind tunnel. Note the smooth smoke plume in front of (clean air) and over the car until it gets to the tail end. Then you see little disruptions in the shape of the plume – eddies – dirty air.
http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/K-12/airplane/tunsmoke.html
There’s more aerodynamic information in the site, but I couldn’t check it all.

EDIT again: Sorry to take exception, but chris got it backwards. You’re in clean air when you’re out front. But he did get it right about the drag factor out front (see my verbose explanation above). And his comment about drafting is correct as far as Nascar and closed cockpit racing is concerned. But for open wheel, it just doesn’t work. See this link and go to “2.1 Open Wheel Racing” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drafting_(aerodynamics)#Open-wheel_racing

Q: Is it always this bad buying used? I will NEVER buy a car from towbin dodge in las vegas again?
My husband and I bought a used 06 gmc yukon xl in september of last year. It had rims and a hubcap was missing. When we purchased the vehicle we were told they had it ordered and it would be shipped to us as soon as they got it. We tried calling these past 7 months and have gotten the run around about not being able to find the same one and never having our calls returned. My husband finally made the 3 1/2 hour drive to Vegas to talk to someone in person and to have a few things fixed on the vehicle (we paid $2500 for extended warranty). First, they said they deal with somone with the same name in Florida and it must have got sent there, then they said it was shipped to us awhile ago. We live in a small town and would know if it was shipped (if it went to wrong address we know the UPS guy to where he would being it to us). Then the alarm on it (I believe VIPER) had problems…my car would start on it’s own at times. They said they had to fix it because it was a safety issue…Oh no! now that he made the 3 1/2 hour drive they can’t fix the dvd player or alarm because it is all aftermarket. They wouldn’t even give him a gas voucher or anything and then mentioned not wanting the higher boss to find out about this. IS IT ALWAYS THIS BAD?!?
The car was fine when we first got it…the dvd player went out a couple months ago. The hubcap was our fault…I guess we should have had something in writing from them stating it was ordered but this is just ridiculous…I want to get a hold of the owner who is on the commercials…

A: I am here in Vegas – I am a dealer. I have met, and had to do business with Josh “Chopper” Towbin. Ask any 10 people in LV, they will all tell you that Chop is the reason the rest of us have a bad name. Josh is not the owner. His father is. You can find him at the Smart / Bentley store on Sahara. But Before you waste even a phone call, you should know that you will get no satisfaction out of them.

First – those aftermarket add-ons will not be covered under any warranty – period. Whether you bought from Towbin or not, they are not original equipment and will not be covered. And your extended warranty does not cover them either. On those items, you are out of gas.

On the wheel – you contradict yourself. YOu say it has rims on it, bt a hubcap is missing? Do you mean the center cap on the wheel? If they promised it to you – in writing they owe it to you. Check a place called Hubcap Annie on Charleston. They might be able to get it for you, or even have one in stock. Then call and let Chop know that you found them locally, and how much. They MIGHT be able to compensate you that way.

Good luck

Q: in NFS Prostreet, how do i keep my car from shaking and flying in a drag race?
I have a dodge viper fully equipped. It is all level 4 and I use it for drag races. How do I tune it so that it doesnt fly off the ground and total everytime?

A: ur shifting time at that speed must be perfect

Q: What type of racing is this?
Racing where you take Porshe’s, BMW’s, Viper’s, Maserati’s, Jaguar’s, Audi’s, or pretty much any other German, Italian, French car or any from europe some from America oh and cars ftrom Japan compete in this racing. This racing is represented in the Gran Turismo video game series better then any other video game. Regular sports cars are converted to have more power and performance and sponsers are added. Races can be on the famous Laguna Seca Raceway, Nurburgring, or Le Mans. An example of the cars used is the BMW M3 GTR, BMW Mclaren, Dodge Viper GTS, these aren’t cars that are one seated speed machines that are similer to formula one.

So what is this racing called?
What do I have to go through to become a racer in this racing?
Is it possible to become a racer from places in the Eastern U.S like is there a college I should go to or are these career path’s only available in California and Asia and Europe?
I really am not interested in Go karts can I just skip that step because I’m probably better in a real car than go karts so if I go into a go kart then I will never move on so is it really requiered?
How do I get an advanced license do I go to some driving school or do they put me in a race car tell me to get a certain track time and if I beat a certain track time i’m considered ready to start either further training or racing.
It seems to be too expensive i’m not a rich person. I need a place where I pay little or just a lot once because this is not for just fun it’s my life without racing I will probably be a criminal or just get killed. Racing is the only thing I can devote my life to. Not NFL, NBA, Nascar only this type of racing so I need something thats garantead if I pass there will be no more payments and a pro career is possible.

A: The first thing to do is go to Skip Barber’s Racing School. Once you graduate their 3-Day School, you get your regional SCCA license. Complete a few things after that and they will sign off on your SCCA national license. The Bridgestone F2000 school in Canada will do this to, but in all honesty, Skippy instructors are top-notch.

Q: Has anyone bought a car using one of those US internet asset seizure sites?
If these sites are legit, the savings on (especially classic and sports) cars are phenomenal. I could actually afford to my dream car, a Dodge Viper. Apparently, law enforcement/ customs type agencies sell the various assets they seize during apprehension of (apparently very rich) criminals, and need to sell them ASAP, as storage costs would become a huge burden. Would love to hear from anyone who has purchased, or know someone who has

A: Sorry, but those are Internet phishing sites and other such scams to unload you of a few bucks for worthless information. These cars are wholesaled to auction houses and dealers, and then resold to the public. If you think a deal is too good to be true it is because it is.

Q: What are the best cars to use against darius in need for speed carbon?
I prefer the dodge viper and the corvette z06 because of their superb acceleration but if anyone has other suggestions let me know

A: wow i remember him. he was the most frustrating guy in the world.
My car was the corvette, as long as you can get the corners perfect then you dont need to worry about the straits.
If you are used to hpw the muscle cars handle/drift, then i should be just a case of keep trying till you get lucky.

Q: 2007 dodge durango Factory Alarm Disarm?
I have a 2007 Dodge durango with a factory alarm, and A viper remote start i installed on it. The alarm functions the doorlocks through the D2D Immobilizer box which uses the canbus system. I need to disarm the factory alarm, using the viper alarm output but I cannot find any reference on how to disarm the factory alarm,or Immobilize it. I need the wire color of the internal factory alarm disarm. Or how to disable it completely. At this point id take it apart and remove it if i knew where it was.
Please HELP!!!!

Thanks, Have a great Day
I just want to know what wires disarm the factory alarm, so I can tie it into the aftermarket alarm, so when the remote start starts, the factory alarm disarms. The alarm has several pulsed and constant outputs that i could use to send a pulse to disarm the factory alarm. Does anyone know the wires?

A: The alarm system controller is behind the glove box or under it,once you have located it.Start the engine and warm it up,unplug the alarm module let the engine run for 5mins then shut it off. Then restart the engine if you were sucessful in disarming the device then the engine will restart. If not go through the steps again.

Q: Linear Equation Project help…?
A dodge viper has a 450 hp engine and it uses 100 hp to travel 60 mph on flat ground. to go up hill, the viper uses an additional 40 hp for each º rise.

So basically i need help on getting the slope and making an equation in slope intercept form…
thanks!

A: let
x = slope of hill (degrees)
f(x) = hp
= 40x + 100

The slope of the equation does not equal the slope of the hill.

Q: on nfs undercover how do u unlock these cars?
i wanna know how u unlock the Lamborghini gallardo murcilago and mircilago lp640 also the dodge viper and can you use the pagini zonda koienigsegg ccx and buggati veryon in the game if u can tell me how to unlock i have 70% in the game and i have it for the ps2 also tell me how to get your wheelman lv up

A: All the cheats right here…

http://www.cheatmasters.com/cheats/28046/Need_for_Speed_Undercover_cheats.html

Q: Dodge Neon SRT-4 Seat Question?
Hey there guys
I recently bought two used front SRT-4 viper inspired seats of off eBay.
My question is if it is possible to swap out the seat belt clip (the one that holds the belt in place) from the passenger side to the driver’s side?

A: if its the ones that go across the top of the seat there’s a left and a right on those two,and im not sure if they will interchange, never tried it before though,im sure there’s a way to make those work though,if you get a good enough deal on them you can figure out a way to make them work, good luck.

Q: What is/was your dream car?
My dream car growing as a kid in the 80s used to be a Porsche, then as a teen i wanted a a Dodge viper in the 90s. I didn’t get those cars though, so i settled for a Nissan 300zx in highschool, and right now I have a Corvette.

My dream car was always a porsche.

A: As a kid my dream car was a volkswagon beetle but now that I’m older I don’t think that it would be very useful since there isn’t much space in it.

Q: what kind of car do you drive?
Me and my husband are looking to buy a new car what are some good dependable ones? we are probialy going to get a newer one from a dealership because we have had too many problems with all our older cars that we bought from single persons or used dealerships but i wanna know what a cute dependable car would be i am 23 i like sportish cars and i like lil compact cars i am not into buicks or cadillacs or any long 4 door cars if it has 4 doors it has to be kinda fat if you know what i mean like not long and skinny unless its 2 door sporty my 2 favorites are Eclipses or Dodge Vipers but i cannot afford a Dodge Viper and i might still have a chance on the Eclipse but what are your opinions?? I like Dodge Neons and Honda Civics(the 2 door ones) tell me what you think i might like and what you like.?

A: First of all you need to buy a GM otherwise you will own a piece of junk. I would look at a Chevy Cobalt or a Pontiac G6. The Cobalt SS is about 20000 with a 173HP motor, automatic transmission, keyless entry, remote starter, CD player. Or the G6 is about 24000 with a 224HP motor, automatic transmission, CD player, and much more. It’s up to you.

Q: Car Choice question.what should i choose?
I have the fortunate opportunity to buy a car in the price range of $100,000.I am looking at the zr1 corvette or the dodge viper or I could buy a used Lamborghini or Ferrari.the zr1 is the fastest out of all.but the looks of a vet are common.I do not see no where as many of the others.should I go for top speed or less common and better looks?
I forgot to mention.I really prefer new.I am worried about buying a used LAMBO OR FERRARI because hard to find mechanic to work on them AND THE ZR1 AND NEW VIPER ARE OVER 600HP AND WILL DESTROY THEM BOTH.buy the lambo and ferrari are big head turners should I take the chance?

A: Lamborghini Baby!!!!
man I am jeleous.

Q: Is this Viper truck worth buying?
im 24 of age and i want something fast, its a 2005 Quad cab SRT10 Truck is this a reliable truck to buy i know it has the viper engine in it and i want a fast truck is it Worth the price. here is the link below

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: Is this a good priced for a used Dodge Neon 2003.?
I just purchased a used 2003 Dodge Neon. It only has 54,000 miles on it. It’s an automatic – has power windows and locks in the front but not in the back. It has never been in an accident and is in very good condition. The asking price was $6,800.00 BUT I got the car for $4,500.00.

I only need it for the next two years of college
is that a good deal for that car??

A: you did ok on the price of that car with that low of miles on it,and the condition of it,that’s not bad at all and that car will last you way longer than that if you take care of it,i own one that has well over two hundred thousand miles on it and its a 2001 model so you did real good on buying that one, most of the problems those cars actually give are caused by lack of good maintenance, good luck.

Q: Used Dodge Neon or Used Chevrolet Cavalier?
Which is better? Those cars fit my budget, so that’s why I mentioned those two in particular.

A: The Chevy would be better, but both of them are crap.

Keep looking, they can’t be the only two cars that fit your budget.

Q: i have a used dodge neon srt 4 but there are some problems?
brakes need replace, rotary needs replaced front and back, black acr rim is bent, need new tires… can someone give me an estimate of all of this?

A: probably around 1200.00 bucks or more ,if i could even give you an accurate price it wouldn’t be right for the area that you live in because the price changes from one shop to the other, that’s just a close guess at it ,good luck

Q: Want to buy a used Dodge Neon?
So I’m looking at buying a used car, and I ran across this 2000 dodge neon at a dealer. He says it’s been tuned up and checked out. I asked how many miles were on it and he says 150,000+. How long do dodge neons run??? It’s an automatic.

A: THATS A BIG NO.NO.I EXPLAIN…AM A MECHANIC AND THOSE CARPLYMOUTH NEON AND DODGE NEON..FUEL PUMP WILL GO BAD.TRANS WILL LEAK.OIL PAN TOO..IS A GAS SAVER BUT A LOT OF PROBLEMS TO GET IT TO RUN NICE…../ GOOD LUCK I GOT A CAMARO FOR SALE$2000 GREEN 3.8L ILLINOIS.

Q: how much do used dodge neon’s usually cost?
im about to turn 16 n looking to by a dodge neon thats used. whats a price range for a used dodge neon?

A: Click

http://autos.yahoo.com/dodge_neon_all_years/

Q: Im thinking about buying a used dodge neon. does anyone know how long they typicaly last or need major repairs
the years im looking for are 1998- 2000 and probably about 115,xxx miles

A: The range you are looking in will not find a good one. They have a poor resale value and are not noted for reliability.

Q: How much is a used 95 Dodge Neon 4dr with minor dents and rust?
How much? What is the value?

A: Auction value is about $400. That’s with 100,000 miles.

If you’re looking for retail or private party, I wouldn’t spend over $800 for the car. Neons have never had even decent resale value, and all (even the high-performance models) sink like a stone the minute they’re driven off the lot.

*ADD – “Joe”, find me a person willing to pay $5500 for that car, I’ll personally stamp the word “IDIOT” on their forehead.

Q: Hi.I just bought a used 2001 Dodge Neon and it has a clifford alarm system without the remote. How do I use it?
Right next to the steering wheel on the left side there is a little black square with a red LED light and two black buttons. I dont know how to use the alarm and I dont know if I even can without the little remote for the keychain. Also it sometimes just beeps when I turn off the car. Can someone please help me figure this out. And i would perfer not to buy the remote. Thanx.

A: Without the remote the alarm is useless. You need to buy a new remote from the manufacturer. The manufacturer’s website should have a manual that you can download. This will have instructions on how to synchronize your new remote to this alarm.

Q: Should I buy a used 96 Dodge Neon with 121,000 miles and bad rear struts?
The guy selling it to me only want $1100 for it, and the only obvious thing wrong with it is the rear struts needing replaced.

A: Many common problems, including head gasket issues…as for the rear struts, the upper mounts are also likely broken…if you can’t do them yourself, expect to pay upwards of $400-$500 to have them replaced with an alignment…so if you offer him $1000, your new car just cost you $1500, not to mention I’m sure that’s not the only thing wrong with it.

Q: Used Dodge Neon 04 Sale?
I looking to buy a used car and I found a Dodge Neon 04, but my sister said I shouldn’t buy it because they do not have anymore dodge neon parts and I wouldn’t be able to get it fix.

A: even though the car isn’t manufactured no more you can still easily find parts for it,so don’t let that make you not buy it,consider this though the car needs to be checked out real good before you buy it or else yo may wind up doing as many repairs to it as you would a really older model car,new mechanical parts are easy to find and so are most body parts right now,but keep in mind they did d stop making the car, that counts for something, good luck

Q: i think i want a used dodge neon. are they reliable?
i also like used corollas. they are reliable, right?

A: well, after working at the belvidere plant that they were built at, I would honestly not trust them any further than I could throw them. The auto trans was an unreliable piece of junk, the manual wore out the synchro’s quickly and the clutch slipped, and worst of all, it’s front wheel drive.

Q: Bought a used 2003 Dodge Neon-has always been noisy when driven but has gotten much noiser and sometimes “jerk?
s” slightly when I slow down to stop. Occasionally it sort of acts like it is going to slide out from under me! Very scary! One mechanic said bad transmission but seems like it could be so many things! Don’t know where to go with it?
I SO appreciate your answers! I will definitely start with the things you have given me to do! Thank you!

A: take it to a transmission shop and have them check the motor mounts and transmission mounts in it first, you may just have a bad mount on it causing that too happen to it,if you,ll have it diagnosed first it will save you from buying parts for it that it may not even need, and the check will be free also, good luck with it.

Q: How Can I Make My Dodge Neon ‘04 SXT Accelerate Better Going Up Hill?
I bought a used Dodge Neon ‘04 SXT with 50k miles on it.

I used to previously own a ‘97 Buick Skylark, which ended up dying on me.
However, performance wise I was very happy with that car. It had great acceleration, and great top speed.

I took the Dodge out for a 400 mile trip, and noticed that it does not perform too well when I go up hill.
For example, if I am traveling at 70 miles per hour in the 5th gear, going up hill, I will decelerate. Naturally, I put it in 4th gear, and then I EXPECT it to accelerate back up to 70 quickly. Wrong!

It probably accelerates 1mph a second, which is very frustrating as I ended up slowing traffic down over and over again. Sometimes it will even not accelerate at all, but just stay at 60mph, or whatever speed I might be traveling at in 4th gear.

How can I improve performance?
I want my car to ACCELERATE at an acceptable speed going up hill, and NOT slow down or stay static.
Also, I don’t want to spend a fortune, blow up the engine or a race car.

A: There’s no easy way to dramatically improve horsepower on your car (short of replacing it). You can get a KN filter, some things like that, but the difference is not dramatic. What you need to do is anticipate that your car won’t be able to make the hill in 5th gear, and drop to 4th (or even 3rd) sooner. I also have a 4cyl stick car, but if I know the hill I’m approaching is going to cause trouble, I’ll drop the gear early on and not ever slow down.

Neon’s have a decent amount of power, but the gearing is tall for economy. Don’t be afraid to downshift and let it rev up a bit, as long as you don’t go over redline you won’t hurt it.

Good luck!

Q: Expected price to pay for a used dodge neon 2005?
I am currently looking at purchasing a dodge neon 2005 it is a 2.0 four door with approximately 120,000km on it. Clean condition sunroof alloy rims automatic and am just wondering what its value would be and how much i should expect to have to pay for it … anyone know???
i think 120,000 km is around 48,000 miles
Dodge man are you quoting me in canadian or american dollars …. im not sure there is canadian screening like that .. if so please advise how i would obtain that screening other than thru a mechanic … and do you know what lemonaid things i should be looking at ???

A: they should be asking around 6-7 grand for it if its in really good condition, with all the extras it has they may ask more for it,do your self a favor before you buy it and have good mechanic check it and run a car fax report on the car, this may keep you from making a big mistake, good luck on it.that was American money i quoted you in,some of the things you should be aware of is if it has a good maintenance record with it,and run a car fax report on it sometimes that will tell a lot about a vehicle, those are good vehicles, mine has well over two hundred thousand on it an its still going good, its ugly now because of the paint but still runs good, have someone check it for you before you buy it,and look for signs of the paint not matching up right, that might be an indication that it has been wrecked or damaged before, good luck.

Q: so i found a used 02 dodge neon?
it only has 49,000 miles on it. power locks and windows, inside looks really nice. they are asking $3,950. what do you think? does it sound like a good car?

A: Its hard to say. You would need to take someone with mechanical experience to look at the car or possibly ask to take it to a garage to have the car looked at. It also depends on what extras the car has and what condition the car is in.
You would need to take it for a test drive and listen out for any knocking underneath. If its a stick shift then try it in all gears including revers. Check to see if theirs any blue smoke coming from the exhaust. Also check under the hud. Take off the oil filler cap and check to see if theirs a guey type substance, if so the head gasket could need replacing. Pull out the dip stick and check the oil level. Make sure the oil level isn’t below minimum. Also look at the colour of the oil. if the oil is dark black then it will need replacing. The oil should be a light brown colour.
Check for wear on the cam belt. If theirs intense cracking then its going to need replacing. Check to make sure the brakes work fine. Push all buttons and twist all nobs, make sure every thing work. Remember, it’s your money, so don’t be afraid to give the car a good thorough search for any problems that could end up costing you money
