Q: how do i replace a rear bumper on ford mustang?
i have 2002 ford mustang. & i need to replace the rear bumper, wanting to do it myself…can anyone help me? like a website or w/e would be fine also.

A: If you mean the rear bumper cover, the painted part, that’s easy they are just bolted on. Get under the car and look along the seams were the bumper cover meets the car and you’ll probably see the bolts on the left and right side. Also there might be a few bolts along the the top, you’ll have to open the trunk and look there too, maybe under some carpeting or trim that hides them. But that bumper cover should come right off. If you’re taking about the bumper under the bumper cover you have to remove the bumper cover anyway. Then just look for the bolts on either side, the bumper is bolted to two large tube looking things, one on the left and another on the right. This is not a hard job at all. Good Luck

Q: How do you adjust the headlights in a ford mustang? They seem off (one beams higher then the other).?
I know that most cars have little knob or circular knob to turn and it adjust, but any ideas where that is located on a 2000 ford mustang?

A: you should probably get it checked out. it’s usually either simple or its not….if youc cant figure it out then your gonna need someone who knows cars to

Q: i put a 97 engine on a 96 ford mustang do i need to change anything?
i have a 96 ford mustang and i needed to replace the engine. i found the exact engine but it is a 97 everything is the same but im still wondering if there is anything i need to change in order for it to work?

A: More than likely no. Just make sure that the sensors and emissions controls on the new engine are the same as what is on the old engine. IF they aren’t you will need to switch them over. Other than that it should all bolt up.

Q: What are the best bulbs for a ford mustang.?
New Blue Xenon HID Light Bulbs 9007 94-04 Ford Mustang. Are these the best and brightest bulbs for a 2000 ford mustang. Does anyone recommend any ones that are the brightest and the best for a 2000 ford mustang that is not a gt. Can anyone recommend the best and brightest out there on the market.

A: Before you drop coin on a HID bulbs, know that in most cases you have to upgrade your electrical system to handle the increased amperage draw. That’s why some kits run up to 1500 bucks on certain vehicle. Personally if your just looking for brighter bulbs I’d got with the Sylvania Silverstars. I’m about to buy them for my truck since the originals have started to dim. It will be the easiest and porbably the best one to ensure you don’t waste your money on a set that will either not run at potential, or burn up your electrics.

Q: Where can I hire a Ford Mustang from in Chicago?

Q: Is the Ford Mustang a good car for a high schooler?
Is it a good choice to get a Ford Mustang in high school? Does it suit the needs of a high schooler?
Regarding needs, i mean driving with friends (who have their own cars) on the weekend, to events (Football games), Activities (Surfing)…

And im talking about getting a new 2010 mustang, and it will not come off as arrogant (I live in a town where the majority of kids get BMWs/Acuras/Etc.)
im not going to get a used/old car

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: what is the general cost to change a timing belt on a 94 ford mustang 3.8 v6?

Q: Should I try to sell my 2004 Ford Mustang or should I let the leasing company take it back?
I leased a 2004 Ford Mustang and it is time to give it back to the leasing company or I could buy it from them. The online Kelly Blue Book estimator said it is worth $11,650 if I try to sell it to a private party and it estimates a Trade-in Value of $10,075. The payoff with the leasing company is about $9,800.

I know those numbers are just estimates, but I’m asking what I can reasonably expect to get for the car if I try to sell it privately here in Dallas, Texas. If I can sell it for $11,650 in a few weeks I would like to do that. If I would only get $10,075 it’s not worth the effort to me and I would rather just give it back to them.
Cowboy Bill:

What makes you think the lease has given me misery?

Yes, I’m miserable that I spent much less per month that if I had bought the car. I just hate having that extra money in my account. Maybe if I take my money to the dealer the salesman will take it off my hands and I will be much less “miserable”.

Bill, are you are car salesman? Is that why you want me to BUY a car? If I wanted to BUY that Mustang I can do it today. Instead I’d rather rent another new car because I’d rather have a new car for less money than and old car for more money.

Leasing is the best of both worlds. If I want to buy at the end of the lease I can buy it. If I want to get something new I can get something new and I don’t have to haggle with buyers or take a loss on trade-in.

A: We would need a little more info about your car as Ford made several models of the Mustang. There are the GT’s the Mach’s the Conv. etc. As well as many options that will change the value of your car. That being said remember that the “residual” value of any lease is what the bank thinks the car will be worth when you turn it back in. In my opinion $9800 seems like an average price but nothing to consider a good “investment”. The market has slowed on these cars and keep in mind that it isn’t going to gain value as it sits in your yard for sale but rather lose value. Not to mention you will have to keep it insured untill it sells. If you love your car keep it. If you are trying to make a little money on the side try a cheaper car that is good on gas they are selling for above book value right now. Hope this helps.

Q: 1999 Ford Mustang: How do I change the shift knob?
I bought a 1999 Ford Mustang a while back and the previous owner had put a knob on the shifter that has lights and stuff – not really my style. When I bought the car, it came with the original shifter knob in the glove box, but I cannot seem to figure out how to take the current one off and replace it with the original. I have pulled up on it, tried to twist it off, tried to push down and twist… Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

A: If it’s a manual transmission, simply lift UPWARD on the shift boot and bezel assembly, and it will snap out. Don’t forget to disconnect the wiring connector to the cigar lighter. Get a 10mm wrench to remove the to bolts that secure the shift lever to the shifter base. Remove everything as an assembly and work with it out of the vehicle. You may need to use two wrenches to loosen the aftermarket knob. The orginal knob simply screws onto the lever. Hope this helps.

Q: should i get a ford mustang with automatic transmission or manual transmission?

I know how to work manual transmission but i don’t like it a lot but i heard that automatic transmission mustangs cost more. I need some assistance please. Also, if you can suggest any other cars similar to a mustang that is a good car, please let me know

A: If you don’t like a manual with get it?

Q: what is a good performance chip for my ford mustang?
i have a 2001 ford mustang gt 4.6L what types of chips are going to add more horsepower.

A: I used a Diablo Sport Tuner on my 2002 GT and it worked great. It added a good amount of HP and TQ in the higher gears which was good. The only downside is that you have to put in premium gas but on the other hand you will notice better fuel efficiency due to the better fuel management by the chip. It does cost $400 but there is no other install costs. Another added bonus is that it has many other features that you can tweak yourself.

Some other cheap and easy things you can do to help performance and not hurt your MPGs is gears which is probably the most bang for your buck. Also you can get a throttle body, plenum, cold air intake. Even a short throw shifter will make your mustang more fun to drive.

Q: ford mustang?
want to remove the steering wheel on it , any instructions on how to take it off
2007 ford mustang coupe

A: Go to auto zone, rent a steering wheel puller (there is a deposit (like 35 dollars) and when you return it you get it back. Take your battery off (ground first, then positive) Then your gonna want to kinda lay in the drivers side floor and you’ll see screws on the inside of the steering wheel, take them out and the cover should pop off with little to no force, Now, this is were you need to be care full, with the airbag…disconnect the wires very carefully, DO NOT FORGET, mark where the stock wheel was and make sure the tires are straight, then after you remove the air bag box, connect the steering wheel puller, tighten the bolt on the puller and it should pop right off. Be carefull.

Q: How much would it cost to Export a Ford Mustang to Europe, then sell it over there?
I have been to Europe many times, but have never seen Ford Mustangs. Yet people I talk to here think they are cool cars. Does anyone have an idea what the costs would be to export a car to Europe to sell?

A: They have ford Mustangs in Germany and some people do buy them but they are expensive to buy & maintain, they also do not get good gas mileage so they are only really a car for someone that wants a Ford Mustang. I know some people that import both new cars and classic mustangs. Roughly their is a 26% import duty plus a 19% sales tax. So a $40.k Mustang will cost roughly 60.k Euro. Gasoline is 1.90 euro a liter, these becomes a very expensive car.
The car has a sports car price but not the performance to make it very popular, most younger people would rather have a Ford Focus ST, VW Sirocco, Golf, BMW 135, Audi A3, something fast and yet practical that will not cost one a fortune in gas. Diesels are more popular over here.

Q: Where can I find a 1999-2004 Ford Mustang needing and engine and transmission?
I have a 2001 Ford Mustang V6 with body damage a bent frame and needs the rear end replaced. I personally believe it would be cheaper to buy a stripped mustang and put my parts in it. where can i find some for sale?

A: Craigslist.com or a do it urself junk yard such as pullapart.com

Q: How fast does a Ford Mustang go.?
I’m writing an expository paragraph about the Ford Mustang. I need to know how fast they can go like in 0 to 60 in like 8 seconds type of fast. (if that makes sense) It doesn’t matter what type of model the Mustang is i just need a general idea about how fast they go.

A: 2010 mustang gt, does 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, quarter mile in 13.5 second, with track pac option the car goes through slalom at 69.3 mph, pulls .93g on skid pad, the car produces 315 hp, and 325 ft/trq but Ford is replacing the v8 engine with the new v8 which is 5.0 liter and produces 400 to 425 hp and torque(estimated by car magazines), the car is fun as hell and there are more aftermarket parts for mustangs than any other car out there and …
