Q: Registering a used civic that i just bought and the previous owner never registered it. Any problems?
I’m about to buy a used honda civic from a private party and the car doesn’t have any license plates. I guess the owner bought the car 6 or 7 months ago and couldn’t afford to pay to register it so it is not currently registered with plates. he does have a clear title to transfer to me. will this be a problem for me when i go to register the car at the DMV? will i have to pay extra because it was not last/previously registered?
A: The guy you are buying it from has to register it. What you are doing is title jumping and that is illegal. He must register it and pay the taxes and tags. He cannot sell it to you until this happens .If you want to check call the DMV and ask the exact question you have ask here. . And if the guy who is selling it to you names has been written on the title it has to be transferred to him, then sold to you. You cant erase it and put your name on it as that is illegal. Also individuals cant just keep signing the boxes on the back until it has been registered one at a time………..UJN
Q: Looking for used Honda Civic will pay cash!!?
I live in San Jose, Ca and I am looking for a used Honda Civic or Prelude or Accord. Must be 2 door (coupe), with moonroof, all power windows, locks, air conditioning, cruise control, tinted windows, low miles, V6 engine would be nice, maybe white in color or red or silver, automatic would be nice too. Nothing older than 1998. I have $8,000.00 cash in hand! Please answer if you have knowledge of such a vehicle for sale.
A: Well try Yahoo Autos. They will have all sorts of cars that fit your need in your area. They show you pics of the interior, exterior etc. I hope this helps
Q: What was the market value of a used 1993 Honda Civic in November of 2004?
Please provide the source where the info came from, and a URL if it’s a web source. Thanx!!!
A: You can find out the info at Kelley Blue Book. The website is: www.kbb.com
Q: Looking to buy a used Honda Civic hatchback or sedan.?
I’ve heard they can run pretty good well over 300,000 km’s. Just wondering how true this is and wondering if purchasing a 97′ in good condition with about 200,000 kms for $2,000 – 2,500 is a good idea.
A: As long as it hasn’t been modified.
It isn’t that there isn’t any good modifications but rather any work done once it’s out of the factory is never quite as good as the original so modifications just make it flakier. I like the 88 Civic Si, that was the first brand new car that I bought. Unfortunately I had an after market AC, power locks and power windows installed. The power locks were good especially since they were tied into the alarm system but the power windows had these plastic caps covering where the cranks used to be and those kept falling off. The AC fan bearings froze and the system kept venting freon through the safety pressure release, went through three mechanics and thousands of dollars before finding a mechanic that thought to check the fan.
You could carry just about anything in that Si, drywall, furniture, you name it, you could make it fit. I’ve never found as useful and as fun a car to drive in all these years.
Q: used 2004 honda civic good price?
do you think this is a good deal from a dealer?
used 2004 honda civic, 47k miles, power windows, cd player
for $11,995?
A: Yeah, seems ok. Maybe you can try to lower the price a little.
I suggest going to http://www.kbb.com to see how much its worth. Just click on the “used car values” link
Q: I bought a used 1997 Honda Civic LX and have a question about the alarm.?
I don’t know what the option button is for.
Someone said the alarm is not from Honda factory???? But it say Honda on the label and have a big “H” under the panic button. Well the pad has four buttons – lock, unlock, panic and option (I just wanna know what “option” is). I’m afraid to press it then have something weird happen is all.
A: well if it Honda’s it can only open the trunk and lock unlock the doors and a panic button.Honda in the us had no other options for that remote.yes having an LX it was not a standard thing for security or remote entry it is an upgrade accessorie.
Q: Which is better… new or used honda civic?
So I’m almost turning 16, and my parents are looking to buy me a car. my question is, is it better to get a brand new honda civic for about 17, 18 thousand dollars or get a used one with between 80-100k miles, about 5-10 years old, and about 5-8k$?
Thanks!
A: The new ones, because the 2001-2005 Honda Civics were known for transmission issues, which are costly to fix.
best thing is something inbetween the two- maybe a one or two year old civic
Q: used civic honda buy?
I am interest to buy Honda Civic Used Two Year old ,any one have
A: Contact a dealer near you!
Q: Mileage accept on a used Honda Civic/Accord and Toyota Corolla.?
I was wondering what’s the most possible mileage accepted on those cars (used). I was hoping to drive to car for at least 3/4 years. And what would be the IDEAL mileage to get on it if my budget is 3000-4000?
Thanks
And how many miles do these cars last up to?
A: Try to find 99-2000 Civic EX with in your price range. The ex is the top of the line with all options and V-TEC. To get these years for you price it would have about 150,000 which if you have all of the maintenance record is nothing.
Q: Should I fix my 1996 honda civic or buy another used Honda?
I have a 1996 honda civic 4 door that needs a new paint job ($399), power window motors replaced and wiring ($500), A/C and heater fixed ($900 at least to replace everything) and about 300 in misc things like fixing interior of trunk. Should I spend the 1500-2000 on the repairs or just try to get another for around 2K- $4,500?
A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net
Q: I’m getting a gray, used 2004 Honda Civic with 31k mileage, do you think its a good car?
Do you have any advice for me on how to treat the car? do any of you have a civic or know anything of the car?
A: Yah fo real Buy a American POS thats in bankrupt lol
Honda all day every day!!!!!!!
Q: should i buy a used hybrid honda civic with over 190,000 miles on it?
Should i buy a used hybrid honda civic with over 180,000 miles on it?
The car is a 2003 USED Honda Civic Hybrid
It has a little over 190,000 miles on it
The car was a single-owner trade in at a reputable dealer (Honda of Kenosha, WI)
The price on autotrader.com is 4,760
I have researched a lot about the car and can’t find much information about what happens after 180,000 miles. I want to know if this would be a good or bad buy. I need a reliable car because I live in Wisconsin and go to school in Minnesota so when I drive home for holidays it is about 235 miles. I also work about 30 miles from where I live, so the car pretty much cannot break down.
Any suggestions?
I have only driven Hondas and I know they are reliable but i don’t want to spend 4,600 dollars on a car that is just going to need a 3,000 dollar replacement in 2 months. Unfortunately i have to be hasty because i go back to school on January 10th and i need a car. i totaled my 2003 honda pilot last week (over 180,000 miles, still worked great) and only have a certain amount of money to spend because of what i got from insurance.
i did not settle too easily with insurance. according to kelley blue book my pilot was worth 4500 at best. we got a LOT more than we should have from insurance.
we have a very good family friend who is a mechanic who will be looking at whatever car i decide on during the 3-day period we get to take it back (which i think is a law in wisconsin or something) and if he doesn’t think it’s up to par then we’ll take it back.
i don’t want people telling me i did something wrong or there is a better way of going about this… i just want to know if there is any information out there or personal experience as to whether or not this would be a good or a bad buy.
A: I wouldn’t touch it.
Q: 2007 used Honda Civic car, your opinions?
looking at a 4 door used 2007 Honda Civic and i’m debating on getting it or not. I want some opinions on whether or not you think it’s a good deal.
It has 56,000 km on it, and has only had one owner which was an older gentlenman.
It’s in mint condition and rides very smoothly. It has tinted windows, along with a sunroof.
The price they are asking is 15,000 .. and i’m just looking for your view on this, and if you think it’s a good deal or not. Feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks.
A: well I had to double check what www.nada.com information due to the way overpriced car this guy has, unfortunately in top condition at a dealer 11,600 is high retail. also for a 07 the mileage is high, unfortunately this is WAY OVERPRICED, A PRIVATE PARTY SALE I would expect to see 8500 to 9000 (I looked on 2010 model year, you can buy a 2010 4 door dx for 16,455 and there are at LEAST A HALF DOZEN honda civic for 16 to 20 thousand. sorry but the old guy is out of his mind, PASS THIS IS NO DEAL for 1,500 more you can buy a new one. type www.nada.com in your web search box, and click on consumer, then look for the honda 2010 civic Some people have no clue, and want more than the car is worth, in this case the old duffer is trying to screw somebody, pass best of luck
Q: what do you think the average used 2000-2004 honda civic would cost me?
: -im going to buy my first car and i really want like a little nice black honda civic but, i only have about $5000,i want a used one which would be cheaper..but how cheap do you think it would be..
A: You are looking at about a ‘99 model for $5,000.00. For every year after that up until ‘04 you can probably add another $1,000.00 to the price. Remember though that since they are very common, you can find a lower mileage ‘99 with around 90k miles. I wouldn’t get one with over 100k miles. Once they are that old, the model won’t affect the price much, so try to find you an EX. The color will probably be your biggest challenge! If you are not picky about the color, you will find one easy. Good luck!
Q: Hey guys, I am undecided on getting a New Honda Civic, a Used Honda Civic Hybrid or a used Acura TSX.?
- the acura tsx has 40k on it
- the civic hybrid has 24k on it
- the new civic has you know….. like 1 mile on it, and it discounted for end of year sale.
A: I would get new. its much easier and then you hae something to deal with if you buy others then you will have to find what they have. this way you know what you have done and taken care of the car. also you need to ask car fax on this others. believe me it does help cause sometimes they don’t tell you all the problems a car has.
